We had the good fortune of connecting with Edwin Navedo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Edwin, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
Ever since I was little my father always told me to never give up. Its what I like to say the ‘Navedo way”. I have always used that to conquer any obstacle that stands in my way. Another reason I keep going is for my family back home in Puerto Rico, There is so much I want to do for them, its crazy to know that some of us have basic things that we rely on daily & the fact is that they don’t have access to those same things & it kills me. I work so hard & keep going so one day in the near future I can provide more & give them a better life. In the end, I’m just a small boy from Puerto Rico that just wants to help my friends, family & eventually the world in some shape or form.

What should our readers know about your business?
Becoming a streamer/content creator really changed everything for me. Its funny a lot of the time people ask me “oh you’re a streamer? what do you play & what do you do?” & its so hard to answer that to be honest. I think what sets Batwin & the NT’s apart is the chaotic hype energy I bring to the table along with some noticeable sound effects, you have to see it for yourself. I’m very proud of what we’ve built with the NT’s, it all started with a close group of long time friends & while many of them are not in it anymore, I will always treasure those memories because the community has just become like family & we’re all there for one another one way or the other. I’m excited about our future, as we continue to grow & spread light & positivity, I want the world to know that we’re all about the positive vibes. When people come to the stream, I want them to feel that its a safe place to just hang out & be themselves. The journey of becoming a streamer started with an idea of just streaming, we didn’t know what were doing but just kept doing it & the more & more we kept going I fell in love with it. As that love continued to grow, we got A LOT of support from a lot of new people as well as old friends & family, it was astonishing. After 2+ years of doing this now, was it easy? NOT AT ALL. I can’t tell you how many times I experienced burn out, depression & my mental health has completely changed from what it was before I started streaming. I always feel like I’m not doing enough & I am very but very hard on myself so I have just tried to do the best that I could to maintain a healthy lifestyle of streaming, content creating & my personal life. Safe to say that I have learned so many lessons along the way & still learning to this day. I used to do 24-30 hour streams like it was nothing back then because I was blessed to be able to stream full time but that came with a price & I paid that price more times than I can count. Nowadays, I have a consistent schedule of streaming, some time to put out content while also managing my day job & personal life so things have gotten better but when you really love something, you get lost in it & that is what happened to me. Aside from the world knowing that we are a safe place, I also want them to know that we always move with light & that the goal here is not to just make money but to be able to bring smiles to people’s faces & to be able to help those in need in anyway we can when things pop off. We will always uphold those values & remember that we are a collective of people who just want to share our light, inspire others & help those in need through our content. In the end, whether we’re playing games or doing whatever we will do our streams in the future, its always going to be vibes. I get to be my true self on stream, Batwin is the real Edwin & I will always give this my 1 million percent.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh this is tough! I just moved to Texas, DFW area like back in April & to be honest I have not done that much. I am still getting to know the area. I did get a chance to visit Dallas when I went to Dreamhack back in June & we went to a restaurant for brunch called The Rustic & that was nice. Its not that I don’t like going out & doing stuff but ever since I have moved here we’ve been on the grind like crazy. I used to live in NJ/NYC & South Florida prior to that so I would have better luck in those places since I lived there for years.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Honestly, there’s a few individuals that definitely deserve this shout out. First & foremost, my father for instilling great principles in my life, always being there, loving me & supporting what I do. Second, my girlfriend Lela, I’ve gone through so much personally since we’ve met & she’s really just been there & always supported in ways that I could never repay her for, she’s my rock. Last but not least, My NT community(NT stands for Newtypes) I’ve always been as real as possible about my struggles & hardships through this journey with them & I’ve only ever received love & support from them. Some of them I have known for years prior to becoming a streamer & some I just met months ago but they have really stood by me & supported me all the way, it means everything.
