We had the good fortune of connecting with Eddie Wiewel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Eddie, what is the most important factor behind your success?
There’s no doubt- it starts with the people that I surround myself with every day. I was always business-minded and competitive, driving me to manage several businesses in my early twenties. This came at a great cost though, as I was so numbers-driven and focused on statistical success that I hit a personal abyss that included a failed business and divorce in the same year when I relocated to DFW at the age of 23.

I quickly learned, that if I wanted different results both personally and professionally, that it would start with identifying what I truly wanted from my life and then seeking out mentorship from friends, family and other entrepreneurs that could guide me on the path towards success. Things got really clear once I prioritized this ideology.

No cliche meant with what I’m saying though- the humbling part for me now is knowing that success is fleeing and finite. Rent is due everyday both personally and professionally. If I stop showing up in any area of my life, things start going away and that’s something I learned to really own at a young age.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Having experienced commercial real estate with a firm in Uptown Dallas, I’ve really enjoyed transitioning to the residential side. The day-to-day of being a realtor, allows me the entrepreneurial lifestyle and autonomy to live out my personal core values every day and maintain balance. Faith, relationships with family and friends  then developing a customer-centric business.

Eddie Wiewel Real Estate’s core values are integrity, customer service and consistency- in that order! I’m a big believer in the concept of converting customers to “raving fans” and this begins with these core values. I’ve found that everything else falls into place when you are accomplishing this with every person you come in contact with- virtually or in-person.

With these values in mind, we focus on the relationship with each client first while being committed to cutting-edge innovation that leads to finding and closing acquisitions. This approach allows us to utilize the different tools that are now available in our digital age while still adding a human-touch that’s more needed than ever. Make no mistake, serving humans is the cornerstone of our business and why we are on this Earth!

It’s more than just a business, it’s a lifestyle!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’d start by having them stay in Las Colinas. I might have some people scratching their heads at this one- that’s okay! Las Colinas is an “Eden” in many respects. The family-environment, canals and experiencing The Four Seasons makes it a hidden gem of DFW in itself. Then you get to location… Las Colinas is conveniently positioned 20-30 minutes from both Uptown Dallas and Fort Worth. I’d drive them into Dallas so they could spend a day enjoying hubs such as NorthPark Center, maybe catch a Stars or Mavericks game and then check-out different spots in Deep Ellum and Uptown. The next day, we’d head to Fort Worth and spend time in the Stockyards. My personal favorite there- Cattleman’s. Definitely check it out for a great ribeye and old-fashioned! Thompson’s, a speakeasy/bar also is a great Saturday night in Fort Worth.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

My family and the great people of DFW! I arrived from Oklahoma City in Irving/Las Colinas in April 2019. This turned out to be the toughest year of my life as I experienced a divorce, failed business and being in a new place all within a few months. It felt as if my life was crumbling before my eyes- and that one very much was. There were so many days in the beginning that I had to just put one foot in front of the other and keep moving, having not experienced so much failure in my entire life!

Luckily, by the grace of God, He put an incredible faith community around me in Irving, Dallas and Fort Worth. This momentum compounded meeting new friends, entrepreneurs and even my girlfriend who is a TCU graduate. These people helped me grow both personally and professionally at the toughest time of my life and I’d like nothing more than to pay this forward to someone else.

More so, to ensure those that are struggling at this very moment know- there’s not only hope, but typically, the greater the failure, the greater opportunity to learn, grow and become so much more. These dark moments are exactly what pushes each of us to face our deepest fears and claim our destiny.
