Meet Ebony Coleman | Functional Medicine Nurse Practitioner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ebony Coleman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ebony, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
After starting our company, Live United Construction and Real Estate in 2016, I saw possibility. My desire to become a entrepreneur in health care was birthed and I knew this was something I wanted to do within my career as a healthcare provider long term.

Through functional medicine, I discovered that we can find and approach the root cause of many concerns to provide healing. Wellness Redefined was started after discovering a huge need within our healthcare system for patients with chronic illness. I knew what type of care I wanted to provide. Something that would bring true impact to bring healing to the patients of Florida and Oklahoma.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Wellness Redefined works with people who are at their wits end. Our American culture has provided wrong information about health and wellness that has been engrained in us as children.

There are many opportunities to work with a Functional medicine provider but you won’t find an experience like ours. Wellness Redefined is set apart with the team approach we provide. When working with us you have your own dedicated Nurse Practitioner and Registered Dietitian that are educated in Functional medicine that work on your behalf behind the scenes. We meet multiple times between appointments to ensure we have a team approach for your care.

I am most excited about the change I see in patients. The improvement they have in their health is encouraging. I love hearing how we have made an impact and changed their lives.

My husband taught me everything I know about business. With that foundation I was able to get mentorship in the Functional Medicine space through an experienced provider in the field.

I would like people to know that Wellness Redefined focuses on improving the function of your organs. To ensure that you have the information needed to make impactful changes.

Ive learned that you can provide the best care, but if your practice isn’t organized with ease, it will confuse customers. Its important to have a system that works. Not only in business but in providing care.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Im a relaxing kind of girl. In OKC, I would Love to take them to a spa for a day of facials, massages, and pedicures. We would eat at yummy restaurants like Flower Child, CAVA, and Panang 5. We would hang out in the sun and head to Lake Hefner to relax and watch the water.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to give a shout out my husband, Ryan Coleman. He is the reason I started this journey as an entrepreneur. His experience in management of a Fortune 500 company along with ownership of Live United OKC, showed me that all things are possible. Through our family business, I saw the possibility in changing outcomes and building generational wealth.

He taught me that I don’t need to be afraid in moving forward as a business owner and it is ok to take risks. As he continued to move forward with integrity, things continued to work. Opportunities came. He has continued to be a foundation to land on when I’m feeling stuck or unprepared. From this, I was inspired to move into a space that allowed me help people in my purpose. To impact many along the way. It is through his leadership that I feel comfortable moving through this space. Thank you Babe!
