We had the good fortune of connecting with Earline Connolly and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Earline, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?

New writers/authors may see the publishing industry as very intimating, because they do not understand the process or know where to begin. That’s why at Cypress & Pine Publishing we take a very non-threatening approach to telling your story.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Cypress & Pine Publishing, LLC is a local up-and-coming publishing company. We offer excellent services that help you write your story, design your book from cover to cover and market it in the marketplace.

We walk the author through the process of taking their manuscript from concept to completion. Our end goal is to match the expectations of the author, and fulfill their goals based on our expertise. We offer tailored marketing based on your needs, and offer step-by-step accountability for your writing process. We will offer a writing class to help you have a deeper understanding of the writing process. After the 5-year contract expires, the author will have an option to take their intellectual property with them to another publisher if they desire to do so.

Our process consists of various stages:

– We edit your manuscript while keeping your unique fingerprint and voice.

– We make your book print-ready.

– We market and manage your book through social media, email campaigns, launches, singings, podcasts, and
our website with more avenues emerging.

– We offer provincial services that include us placing your book in the best venue for you.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First, we would grab breakfast at The Original Pancake House here in Fort Worth. They have the best coffee, pancakes, and service in town. Then we would hop across the highway to the Hulen Mall and do a little discount shopping at Macy’s Backstage. Then downtown Fort Worth to the Stock Yards for sites, eats, and more shopping. There are several coffee shops to visit each day that she’s here from White Rhino to Love Local Coffee & Art and of course Brewed! There’s always a festival or outdoor event going on in the Spring, like Mayfest, Main Street Art Festival in Downtown Fort Worth. Sundance Square is a great hangout spot to walk, sit and listen to live music. We have to make sure we eat at Charleston’s off of Hulen and MesoMaya Mexican Restaurant, my personal favorites. At night we could stroll down 7th Street and grab a bite to eat at Pho District in the Montgomery Plaza Area. Will Rogers Coliseum always has activities and events going on, we love the Stock Show and all the home shows. Gotta get a Rodeo Goat Burger before we leave the area. We would then get our artsy-fartsy on at Magnolia Street and we could catch the Art’s Goggle Festival and walk miles from one end of the street to the other. Lots of live music, art, vendors, eats, and entertainment. Another cozy place to walk is at Panther Island where the Trinity River flows through the city and is filled with bikers and walkers enjoying the flowing river. I’m not a sports person but if she wanted to see a game TCU is the best place to catch a baseball game, football game, or track meet. This is just in Fort Worth, there’s so much more to see and do in the area, she would just have to move here to enjoy it all.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to thank God for the divine connection I had with Carla Smith. She is retired from the publishing industry, but shared all her knowledge with me and then pushed me onto this business path. I want to shoutout to my family who has truly supported me in making the shift from stay-at-home Mom to Boss Lady. I want to make sure my staff know how much I love and appreciate them. We could not be where we are if it were not for them. But most of all I want to thank God for opening doors, making connections, and giving me opportunities that only He could make happen for my company.
