We had the good fortune of connecting with Dwayne Kidd and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dwayne, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I am from Dallas Texas live in Oakcliff my back ground was everything to me. I had so many people around me who own they owned business from Barber shops and Beauty shops,Carlot’s etc.

My grandmother was a very strong educated woman. She taught me so much about life! She believed in me so much so she always encouraged me. I remember me opening my first business she was so excited I was just 22 years old when I open my first business, which was a janitorial company. My grandmother was so proud of me she taught me how to do the billing for my company and how to do time keeping and making sure everybody got paid on time.
I was very grateful for her and the men and women in my life who was entrepreneurs! So I was very bless to have them in my life because whatever I want to be they always encourage me and did whatever they could do to help me make my business better!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite place to hangout is the Legendary Blues Palace in Sunny South Dallas. The band is amazing the people there have so much love in they heart we dance the night away. I love to go eat at Texas De Brazil’s they have awesome food and drink. I love to go to Joe Pool Lake and go boat ride and relax.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

I am grateful for my grandmother and my Mother &Dad and sisters and brothers and friends they always had faith in me when I would cook they would say you need to sell this food it is a o good. I am grateful for my grandmother buying me my first pot set. For my sister coming to buy food from me all the time and asking me to cook her some crabs leg’s lol and lemon pepper wings and fries.
