We had the good fortune of connecting with Dustin Coffman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dustin, why did you pursue a creative career?
Music is an obligation that we’re required to participate in. Strictly for our own benefit, it’s something we can’t function properly without. There’s something about writing that allows us to vent emotion and give our meaningless lives a modicum of purpose. I wish the answer was more profound than that, we simply need to do it.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
If we’ve done something to set ourselves apart from other bands we truly don’t know what it is but at the end of the day we’re grateful for it. We’re extremely proud of our last album ‘Spotted Horse’ and our most recent single ‘Twin Dream’. We’re also very excited for our third LP, which we’re just about finished with. We’ve gotten to where we are today by pouring ourselves into our art, being patient and doing the bare minimum in regards to our professional lives. This journey hasn’t been easy but it’s the only choice we could have made for ourselves. Like many bands, we’ve had to overcome some personal hurdles, line-up changes, and many other unforeseen events but through it all we have each other and the will to keep moving forward while we can.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We’re reclusive so we’d probably just throw a house party over on the east side at ‘The Granada House’ and ask all our favorite local bands to play. It might be difficult but we could probably make it a week long event if we tried.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
In no particular order: Andrew Hernandez our sound engineer and behind the scenes fourth member. “This Will Destroy You” for helping shape our artistic direction as well as the countless things they’ve done for us. Chris Royal King for designing our album artwork and logo Brutal Panda, our record label for taking a chance with us and supporting our music.
