Meet Drea Jones | Youtuber | Social Media Influencer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Drea Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Drea, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Last year, during the pandemic, like many others I lost my job. I felt sorry for myself for a long time, a couple of months. After looking and couldn’t find anything in my field, I picked up a camera and started recording. Realizing after that I was really good with editing, social media marketing, and influencing; I started to get paid out of no where and a light bulb went off. I know this is not a typical business people expect but I am so passionate about it. I run it like a fortune 500 company and I will operate in nothing less but excellency. God really blessed me last year in finding my purpose.
Through these outlets, I was also able to share my story about overcoming two toxic marriages! That in itself was an inspiration for me, and I found later how many people I can inspire through my own story. I want that same feeling always with my business, I want women and men to be encouraged.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I graduated in 2012 with a Mass Communications/Media degree from California State University East Bay. In that year it was the beginning of the digital world and I was the first class to graduation with digital, social media marketing, journalism, public relations, and communication degree all in ONE! I specialize in it all.
In 2015, after making the giant move from California to Texas, I landed my first Sport Journalism job working for the Dallas Mavericks! It was the beginning of an epic career!
Now I have interviewed and connected with many heavy hitters to include: Bishop TD Jakes, Kobe Bryant, and Lebron James, just to name a few.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Dallas= Brunch
Brunch me please! My favorite brunch spots include Stirr Addison, Breakfast Brothers, the Biscuit Bar, Grand Lux and of course we have to include Pappadeuax.
And what’s a trip without shopping, so we will include NorthPark Shopping Center, Dallas Galleria, and the Shops of Clearfork.
For dinner we are going to hit all of my favorite steakhouses, Nick & Sams, Bob’s Steakhouse, True Kitchen Cocktails and my new favorite “girlie” spot XOXO Dining Room.
Last but not least we are going to do an easy breezy morning walk to Klyde Warren Park and visit the Dallas Farmer’s Market on Saturday!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I am going to shoutout my Church Family and my Pastor! I am a proud member of West Irving Church of God In Christ where my Pastor is, Pastor Andrew Jackson Jr. Because of the prayers, support of my church family I’ve overcame so much in the past year!
My family is my world, both my mother and sister are entrepreneurs and still do this day are teaching me all about being a business owner!
Lastly, I want to thank God for choosing me on this journey in fulfilling my purpose.
