Meet Dr. Teresa Moore | Mental Health Therapist, Author & Event Host

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Teresa Moore and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dr. Teresa, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Growing up in a poverty stricken area where the success rate was limited, I wanted to be to others what I needed in my life. I become an agent of change to help others be mentally healthy, happy and whole.

What should our readers know about your business?
As a community Agent of Change, Minister and Mental Health Professional, Dr. Moore lives a lifestyle of sowing seeds of hope and love. She is the owner and operator of Emages Counseling and Advocacy Services, where she offers a variety of therapeutic services, including but not limited to individual, married and group counseling; assessments; and educational treatment services to clients and families in the time of crisis. She has extensive experience serving the developmentally disabled and mentally challenged population in various leadership roles. Holding multiple degrees in Religious Education, Counseling and Human Services she is known for masterfully combining the Word of God with psychological processes and procedures to help her clients break free from past wounds and hurts that continue to hold them hostage.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
To my church! The River New Wine Glory to worship with me! Then to eat some delicious lamb chops from Ruth Chris steak house. We would visit the Motown Hitsville museum and the Charles H Wright museum. I would take a ride downtown Detroit and walk on the Riverwalk and also check out Campus M. Possibly attend a Detroit Pistons game at Little Caesar’s Arena or a Detroit Lions game a Ford Field.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The late Linda K Burrow for showing me what resiliency looks like.
The Late Rufus Burrow Jr. for being an example of what hard work and dedication mirrors.
Dr. Richarne Fuqua for being an vessel that God used to push me into my “next”.
