Meet Dr. Kchristshan Howard | Choir Director & Founder of Shun & Co. Designs and K’s Delights

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Kchristshan Howard and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Kchristshan, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
The most important thing I’ve done as a parent in terms of the impact on my children is being intentional. I choose to be active in Kennedi, Kerrington, Kayden, and Kamden’s life. I’m active physically, spiritually, and emotionally. My children, and I believe all children, need to know that parents are there intentionally. I realize I won’t be perfect and I also realize I will make plenty mistakes as a parent. However, I want my children to always be able to say that mommy didn’t give up, leave, or choose other things or people over being present in their lives. I want my children to know that I will always support them, guide them, and love them through their journeys in life.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
When it comes to Shun & Co. Designs and K’s Delights, we create every piece and meal with our very best. We want to make sure our customers are left with a lasting impression, feel loved, and are met with professionalism. We are most proud of our mistakes and our improvements. Mistakes and challenges along the way, have made us better business owners, creatives, and supporters of others. We got where we are today with much prayer and a lot of grace. We try our best to serve others like God would want us to. In doing that, we know that we can’t fail. As creatives, we know that things won’t always be perfect, but our heart will always be in the right place. The lessons we’ve learned along the way include, but are not limited to, 1)providing grace to others just as we would need it, 2)learning that balance and rest is needed in order to be our best to others, and 3)always be willing to learn from others who are willing to support our craft and see us succeed. We want the world to know that we are imperfect people creating things for people who deserve the best we can give them. We won’t stop desiring to do things in excellence. Keep praying for us!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting the area and I wanted to show them the best time ever, I would take them to 1) church, 2)Yardbird Restaurant or Perry’s restaurant in Downtown Dallas, 3) Klyde Warren Park, 4) any place where my musician friends such as Gino “LockHeart” Johnson , Chadney Christle and many more or jamming, and 5) Cake Bar at Trinity Groves.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to recognize my children Kennedi, Kerrington, Kayden, and Kamden, and all those who have supported us in our businesses Shun & Co. Designs and K’s Delights. Both of these businesses were birthed around the same time and my children and our supporters have been amazing! The efforts, support, mentorship, love, and encouragement of others has been incredible and we can’t say “thank you” enough!
