We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Jake Schumann and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Jake, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
Personally- that he was faithful, consistent, and loyal. That he spent his life honoring God, loving and serving people- and that he led well. Professionally- that he dedicated his years to helping families shift the way they pursued health and one another. That generations of people realized and trusted their God-given potential for health!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Our vision at Restoration Chiropractic is to create a generational shift in the way families pursue health – focused on the root cause and activating normal physiology and optimal function.

Our mission is to serve and empower people within our community and beyond to recognize their inborn ability to regain their health and live with purpose the way God uniquely designed them.

We specialize in neurologically-based Chiropractic corrective care for the entire family. All of our doctors are Webster-Certified to care for pregnant mothers and board-certified and credentialed through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) to care for children.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My wife and I live in Frisco. Our house is 120 years old and within walking distance of Main St.- so we always start there! We like to show friends around our house then walk two blocks to Frisco’s rail district. Five coffee shops are within a short walk, so prepare to be caffeinated when visiting the Schumanns! Then we’d have to make a trip up to Prosper to see the practice. The twelve-minute drive north on Preston Rd. is fun because you’ll pass the legendary Brinkmann Ranch and see multiple spots that show what Frisco and much of North Texas used to look like. After touring Restoration Chiropractic and getting an adjustment, we would head a little farther north to the Historic Downtown Celina Square. This is one of our favorite spots to hang out- and lunch at Tender BBQ never disappoints! We then like to take visitors east through a scenic route via Weston Rd. passing over to Historic Downtown McKinney- one of the most incredible places you’ll visit in North Texas. There is so much to do in downtown- lots of great local shops and restaurants. Our favorite place for dinner and drinks is Harvest. To wrap up the weekend, we like to take friends to the Cowboys headquarters (The Star) on Warren Pkw., then get a nice dinner at Randy’s Steakhouse on Main St.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My dad has been the most influential person in my life. His consistency, hard work, and commitment to those he loves and serves are unmatched. He sets the bar.

I have two mentors within Chiropractic that have helped me understand what it takes to be a Christian man, husband, father, friend, mentor, teacher…and oh yeah, a Chiropractor! Dr. Michael Viscarelli, the founder of ADIO Chiropractic and the mentorship company AMPED, was one of the pivotal people God placed in my life while in my undergraduate program at UNT that helped me decide that helping families pursue true health and healing through Chiropractic was exactly what I was meant to do. Through Chiropractic school, I learned from him in all aspects of running a faith-based, results-driven Chiropractic facility for the entire family. He and the other leaders in Amped helped me establish my practice in Prosper, Texas in 2018. Dr. Michael Buffington is one of my biggest influencers. He has been helping people through Chiropractic care for 27+ years in Rockwall, TX, but has been a personal mentor and coach for me for about 3 years now. We train daily on the mental, spiritual and physical side of being a man, husband, leader, and provider. The tools and mentorship he has provided has helped me grow my capacity year after year.

My sister, Molly Rook, must be on this list. She has been by my side for almost 5 years now as we opened Restoration Chiropractic in Prosper, TX. She took a leap of faith and has served alongside me faithfully as we’ve grown our practice into one of the largest family practices in the state.

My wife, Johnnye- a consistent and faithful encourager. She never lets the weight of what we do grow too large. She consistently prays for me and lifts me up daily. My best friend and partner in life.
