We had the good fortune of connecting with Dontae Henderson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dontae, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I created the idea in my mind beforehand. It all started from a desire to simply help others. Basically in whatever way that I could.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I started a business called HOMEsiq which entails a multitude of tasks. I don’t just do one thing. I’m a contractor, specializing in a lawn service, real estate, repairs, service, etc. But on the contrary I am an artist as well. Doing music I go by the name SINirgi. Pronounced (synergy). As an artist I strive to deliver a flow that is unmatched and brings a sense of consciousness to your mental. I like to touch on all subjects and adapt like a chameleon.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would offer a range of shit from chilling at Texas Live to eating sushi at Blue on west 7th st. All kinds of things to check out. Go to a few lakes and rivers to free your mind. Whatever.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like start by thanking God for everything. My subshout-outs goes out to “Q” Quatondra of Piece of Work. All my children (Julian, Jacob, Khylen and Eko). My parents, brothers(Alfred, Rashad and fallen brother Donnie). My sisters(Tasha, Tina, Deauna, Norma, Dana and Sharonna) My parents. My cousins (Nathan, Harold, Sayyid, Djua, Cam, etc.) My bro’s Zanyboi, DJ $ickk, Needo, etc. And the list continues but thank you all.
