We had the good fortune of connecting with Dominque Morgan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dominque, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Yard Card Queen Harrisburg has helped brighten days for many people on several occasions. Providing Yard Card Greetings to individuals that are ill and unable to interact with their families reminds them just how loved they are. Providing Yard Card Memorial Greetings for homicide victims has been therapeutic for some. We have provided memorial Greetings free of cost to families or at a discounted rate; that is another way we have given back. Lastly we sponsor at least one Senior each year a Yard Card Greeting. The Recipient’s guardian for The Class of 2022 has already been notified. Yard Card Queen Harrisburg also participated in Soles for Souls in Baltimore, Md; we purchased school sneakers for 4 children.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Yard Card Queen Harrisburg recently celebrated our first Year Yearaversary. This business started during the pandemic. I am a Psychotherapist full time, so I have a heart for people. I love hard and I want people to know they are loved as well. Therefore I look at every individual order that we get and try to make a personal connection for the recipient. The positive response has been overwhelming. My husband Anthony & I own/operate this business on nights that we accommodate 8-10 customers it’s necessary to divide and conquer. He thinks his Yard Card Greetings are better than mine; I know my Yard Card Greetings are better than his lol. Anthony is my best friend I thank God for him. Business wise The Morgan’s are Business Minded we bounce ideas off of one another. TeamMorganEnterprises is our Janitorial business it is equally as busy. During our most challenging season we depended on our Mother’s Wendy & Cindy and Ms. Savanah; we could not have pulled Graduation season off without them. I’m most proud of Yard Card Queen Harrisburg winning an award from Harrisburg Magazine’s Simply The Best during our first year of operation. People voted for us and we are so very grateful.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting the area for one week I’d definitely cook lol. I’d also have a meal prepared by Mellie Bellies. The Melting Pot is also one of of favorite places for dinner as well as drinks. The Cheesecake Factory for red velvet cheesecake. We entertain our closest friends and family at our home.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Marian Urrutia, my Sister. Marian provides me with unconditional love and support. Rather it be a business venture or a Career change she will not only encourage me she will walk with me and assist however she can. She keeps me lifed in prayer. Moreover she supports me and anything connected to me. Marian not only encourages me by her words her actions are equally as great. In January Marian will be sworn in as The Hononable Judge Marian Urrutia (Magisterial District Judge). I love her energy and I love her to life.
