We had the good fortune of connecting with Dom & Devin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dom & Devin, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
Hello we are Dom and Devin a producer/dj/creative duo going by REALEZT.

We are both originally from Amarillo, TX. We met in the 6th grade but at first we did not like each other for whatever reason. After a year or so everything changed and we have been inseparable ever since now going on almost 10 years of friendship.

We were together everyday until it came time to go to college. We both got recruited and eventually signed to play football at different universities in the same conference. Devin went to Angelo State, and Dom went to Texas A&M – Commerce. Many thought the distance would possibly test our friendship, but we continued to maintain contact and eventually covid hit. We both came back from school and quarantined together and that is when REALEZT would be created.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
We feel like we bring something different to the Bass Music Scene as people and as artists. We understand that bass music is a small niche market, but we would love to see it evolve into a more widely respected genre of music. Our sound combines the aggressive dubstep you all know with a futuristic and melodic side that can help make it appeal to wider audiences. We are all about big tasteful intros, smooth melodies, and impactful drops that gives the listener a new spin on the ever evolving bass music genre’s.

With in these short two years of creating and funding REALEZT, we understood to get anywhere professionally we had to approach it with a business mindset. Being from a small town like Amarillo we realized our first step had to be integrating our selves into the Dallas Underground and becoming familiar faces. This was not easy especially being outsiders, but at one point we stayed in Dallas for nearly two months networking, attending every event possible which eventually led to us getting booked on smaller shows. Over time we started gaining traction leading to us getting bigger and better bookings as well as out of state shows we still have a long way to go and are nowhere near satisfied.

We eventually got to a point to where we wanted to show people in our hometown what they were missing out on and we started to throw our own events and creating our own scene from basically nothing. To our own surprise our first event did really well with our efforts focused on marketing, production, and brand awareness. We sold it out and even had to turn people away due to capacity.

We have learned many things the hard way within the music industry. It is very cutthroat and ever evolving especially due to the power of social media. We have realized perseverance and consistency is key making music is hard, but gaining a following is even harder.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Monday – MARGS!! Mayer’s Garden has crazy $6 margs.

Tuesday – Top Notch Tuesday’s @ Select Start Arcade Bar in Deep Ellum.

Wednesday – Primary Recovery day. Get some food from Dave’s Hot Chicken.

Thursday – Green Light Social is always the move.

Friday & Saturday – We re either playing an event or at least one of our friends is usually playing an event. Our main spots include The Factory, Green Elephant, Viva’s Lounge, or RBC.

Sunday – Primary Recovery day. Brunch usually at Smithy’s or Standard Pour.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We want to give a shout out to our family, friends, and supporters.

Family – From the beginning it has not been easy but they have always supported us and our dreams.

Friends – Some people thought we were, and prolly still are out of our minds for choosing to do this but the select few have always stuck by our side and saw the vision.

Supporters – All of this would not be possible with out y’all and we are forever thankful for the support on releases, shows, and everything surrounding REALEZT. It truly makes our day and all of this worth it.
