We had the good fortune of connecting with Diondra Shanai and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Diondra, what makes you happy? Why?
Using each day provided by our Creator to leave a lasting impact on this world makes me happy. I tend to focus on how i feel in order to be able to achieve greatness. If I am not genuinely happy with SELF, I will not be able to be happy for others. With peace comes happiness, my healing will shine a light that others can see and hopefully want to obtain for themselves. I mean, it is free! It starts with you Mind, Thoughts become things. Always choose Happiness!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am so proud of the work being put in to evolve my Brand. I refuse to limit myself to one particular profession because I want everything that work hard for. I’m working on a Podcast centered around Relationships, Mindfulness, Abundance, Self-Worth and more. I’ve been able to understand the concept of perception, so having strong black men like my older brother Cazz in my life to gain information from is a blessing. I am not giving up on my dream to provide the world with all of this wisdom that I have bottled up. Black People all around need to hear this!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to Dinner at one of my favorite restaurants Sky Blossom. I don’t drink but I would take them out for a great night at a hookah lounge anywhere in the Addison area or to Deep Ellum for some fun. We’d hit Brunch at DJ’s Steakhouse and vibe on Sunday.

We could hit a Mavs Game, Farmers Market, Wax Museum, and Nyx Blend Bar during the week.

I love being around smaller crowds so, house gatherings and small events are more my thing. But don’t threaten me with a good time 😉

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
It would only be right to recognize my amazing group of friends, as well as my family members for keeping me grounded. There are times when the work that I’ve done to heal as an individual is hard to maintain, but they remind me that I am human. I go so hard on myself to grow and they help in every way.

I would encourage every one to read the Book Isis Papers: The Keys to the Colors by Dr. Frances Cress Welsing.
