We had the good fortune of connecting with Diana and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Diana, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
As a Latina who came from a big family I always saw my parents work hard to take care of me and my siblings, I wanted to do the same for my children, I wanted to be able to provide for them and to be able to pass on what I created (my business) I have always been a go getter I don’t stop so I find any way to keep myself busy and having my own thing to me just felt right, I created my Dirty Drip business as hobby to keep me busy plus I love what I do, I love meeting new people and creating friendships with returning costumers I love bring yummy treats to people and them telling me ‘that they loved them’ It’s such an amazing feeling. I also have another business it’s my mobile Notary business which I love dearly, but my Dirty Drip business definitely has my heart.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I would always make Chamoy for my family’s gatherings until one day I decided to convert my hobby and love into a business and let others all over try my creations, I first started with my OG (original) flavor then little by little started adding more flavors, from mango, to watermelon and so on also lets not leave our delicious Dulces Enchilados and our Fruit Roll Up Pickles behind. I love to make peoples tummies happy, and I enjoy all the love and support my clients give me. I eventually would love to expand my love for this and have my store and I’m hoping to stay where my heart is which is in Oak Cliff. I really love what I do and I look forward to seeing what the years ahead have in store for me because this is just the beginning of my journey.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love my City (Dallas) my favorite place to eat hands down is Sunset Crab Shack, Tapatio, and can’t forget Country Burger all located in Oak Cliff. I love top Golf and bowling, and let’s not forget the pulgas, Traders Village and the Seagoville Flea Market, and for a late-night drink 216 for sure.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Dallas is full of self-made entrepreneurs, I have watched these ladies start from the ground up, they have made a big impact in me wanting to start a business, they are go getters and I look up to them for all that they have done and have accomplished and will continue to do, Judy with DermaLab Aesthetics Dallas and Frances with Jimenez Creationz, these two ladies without even trying have a made a huge impact in my life and I will forever be grateful.
