We had the good fortune of connecting with Diana Castaldi and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Diana, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I am a firm believer that risks are essential to growth. I’m not talking about going to the blackjack table and putting your life savings on red and seeing what happens. No, I’m talking about the risk that comes from doing something brave in order to live your truth or follow your dream. I was a classroom teacher for 8 years and always wanted to have my own bridal beauty business, but I was afraid. How would I do this? How could I make this happen? I put myself through my teacher credential program by working at MAC and worked here and there on weddings on the weekends, but never thought that I had what it took to make it my full time job. I wanted to be my own boss, to be able to work with my dream clients and was scared to take the risk. The pandemic changed everything for me. I realized that life was too short to not live your dream. I took a risk, I invested in a business coach and vowed that I would work to make my business my top priority and live my dream once and for all. I took a big risk, during a pandemic no less, but it has payed off. I invested in myself and in my business, learned a lot along the way and have fully stepped full time into my business. It has been the best risk I have ever taken!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Diana Marie Makeup Artistry specializes in bridal makeup and hair. in Central Texas. My aesthetic is based on the philosophy of less is more and feeling naturally pretty. I am passionate about makeup and am originally from Southern California where I worked on elite clients and events. Over the years, I have created my own unique experience to allow the bride to light up with confidence and ignite the sparkle from within. I create a high touch experience for my brides to make them feel confident and beautiful on their wedding day. I love working with brides and hearing how they met their fiance and listening to their love story unfold and progress to their engagement and upcoming wedding. It has taken me a long time to be able to get to where I am, but I am so happy that I am here. I have been doing makeup professionally as a part time job for the last 14 years and I am so excited that I have been able to step full time into my business here in Texas. It was not always an easy road, but with encouragement from my loved ones and belief in myself, I have grown in my business and I am so excited to serve the brides of Central Texas!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting I would want to take them to Magnolia to see the beautiful space and see why Waco is on the map. Then, I would want to hike in Cameron Park and eat at all the wonderful eateries in Waco. I’d love to take them for BBQ, travel to Salado to see all the antiques and shop at all the great local boutiques! Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to thank my family, friends, and coach who believed in my skills and talent to support me along my journey!
