We had the good fortune of connecting with Destiny Washington and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Destiny, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The fact that everyone who steps foot into our studio feels comfortable & encouraged. Let’s face it, auditions can be tough and intimidating and if you add in the bright lights and a total stranger standing on the other side of you, that’s brutal! The reason we have been so successful and popular amount actors, is that simple fact that we make our clients feel at home and remind them that there is nothing holding them back from an amazing audition. We take care of our actors and give them the freedom they need to be in the moment.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The fact that we are owned by a working actor sets us apart, That means we have the knowledge, passion and dedication needed to pour into the talent the comes in the studio. Any that is defiantly noticed by everyone that steps foot into the studio. Growing our studio has not been easy and COVID tried to take us out but the resilience that I have to see this studio grow and expand into other markets is what keeps me going. I’ve learned that there is a solution to every problem, some may take longer to figure out but, there is a solution. Dealing with running a business during times of COVID has reminded me to always think outside the box’s. TAPED is and has always been necessary in our creative community and our brand embodies everything that a true studio for actors should be, affordable, knowledgeable and in the talents corner!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Hands down!! First, going to Ricky’s Hot Chicken in Richardson, they have the best Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwiches. You can’t come to the city and not get, The Sando! I’m such a homebody, so the only other place I’d take them to in Pink Coffee in Garland, Tx. I swear I’m addicted to their Chi Tea Latte. Boring Much? Lol

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I believe every single actor who has trusted us with an audition or coaching session deserves recognition! It’s our clients that show us the utmost appreciation of and send other actors our way. So, other than God who blessed us with the talents and opportunities to make this happen, plain and simple the talent deserves all the recognition for growing our studio and trusting us with their craft.
