We had the good fortune of connecting with Deseree Cottrell and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Deseree, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Well, I always wanted my own business at a young age and I grew up loving art but had a huge passion for music, writing, poetry, beats and dancing. As reaching my mid-20’s I wanted to do something different and help the city out at the same time, that’s why I started TripleDBattlez.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Dallas is GROWING! Not just in size, but in UNDISCOVERED TALENT. As an entrepreneur I have always had an ear for music, and talent overall, that was unique.
It isn’t easy trusting myself and learning the ins and outs of the game, but I am confident that Triple D Battlez is what the world is missing.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to eat at chiloso’s or Buca De Beppo’s for some good Hispanic/ Italian food and drinks, take them to White Rock Lake or Arlington Park for the texas scenery, and to Dave and Busters or 6Flags for excitement.
And if they are into it, I’d take them to the Aquarium or the Dallas museum of art in downtown to see them think outside of the box .
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I most definitely want to give a special thanks to Eric; AKA: E_Creative_desining and Predro Green AKA: DJ Fuckit and the rest of my team for supporting and believing in me.
