Meet Dennis Lockman | Real Estate Agent and Investor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dennis Lockman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dennis, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important aspect to success is consistency. You have to be willing to go out there to fight for what you want on a daily basis. I don’t think a lot of people are wanting success because they don’t want to be consistent. Consistency is boring on the daily, but it’s what leads to excellence. I would rather do the boring work now to have an amazing life than have a boring life and be lazy forever. I grew up where a lot of what I got in life is from me not being the best, the most athletic, the best-looking or the smartest, but from me outworking everyone. I believe that is what separates me and what makes me, me.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a real estate agent and investor in DFW. What sets me apart from others is the fact that I am willing to do whatever it takes for my clients. I am not afraid of hard work. I think of my clients as actual people and I don’t just look at it as a transactional relationship. The bigger picture is that I am there to help people be satisfied with their biggest purchase in life.

It is not an easy journey. It takes grit and determination to see through hard times. What people don’t understand is that times are changing, the market is forever changing, and if you let fear dictate you, you will always be living below where you could be.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite things in the city include anything with water or sports. I’m a simple guy.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There’s a lot of people that have impacted my life such as my mom, dad, brother, wife and son. They all teach me a different aspect of what life is all about. I’m learning that all that matters in life is having people in your corner that love you and want the best for you. Family will keep you grounded. Another person that has impacted me, whom I have never met, would be David Goggins. I read his book “Can’t Hurt Me” and it has given me a new perspective on mental toughness and doing more than what’s comfortable. The greatest mentor of all time is my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I learn so much through His grace, His story, and His love that has not only impacted me but humanity itself. I work everyday to want not what the world wants and to have a love like Jesus.
