We had the good fortune of connecting with Denise Wolford and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Denise, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
Being Persistent not a Procrastinator getting things done.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Well I’m a song writer, producer, screenplay writer, psalmist, produce music videos and more. I was proud of my 1st gospel CD that was performed with my sisters; our group was called New Nation written & produced by Ray Cleo. This project was a challenge but with strong determination and Gods grace I made it. Me & my little sister Carolyn later recorded two R&B singles produced by the late “James Moore Aka “DJ CURLY” “Make No Mistake” & “Refuse 2 Loose…”Make No Mistake was used in a movie call “Belly Fruit” very powerful movie out of Los Angeles. I then recorded a solo gospel CD title “When Your # Comes all lyrics written by myself music produced by Ray Washington Jr. When you have a gift I was always told your gifts will make room for you and that it did. Through all the challenges the ups and downs one thing I’ve learned was to never give up keep yourself surrounded by positive people that see your vision eventually those closed doors will soon open if you don’t quit.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love football, basketball, basketball, hockey, golf, clean comedy club, amusement parks and more. I would find out who’s in town purchased tickets go to one of my favorite restaurant Saltgrass, Texas Roadhouse, Pecan Lodge or LoLo’s Chicken & Waffles. I would take them to visit some of my celebrity friends. I would visit our local radio station show them the behind the scenes stuff. We would visit the museum cooking classes take a boat ride and then spend a few days at the lake house.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I like to send a shoutout to my Son & daughter Lesley Lusk Jr & Alesha Lusk for being my rock during and after my domestic abuse. When I looked at them they gave me hope to move on. I like to also thank my entire family for being my biggest support after it was all said & done.
