We had the good fortune of connecting with Demetria Thomas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Demetria, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I believe the most important factors behind my success are my supporters and my family! The taste and the look of the cookies may or may not win the customer, but my faithful supporters and family will always be there to cheer me up when my head hangs low!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Never in my life would I have considered myself to be an artist until NOW! I’m really able to unleash my creativity through edible art. I got where I am today by researching and practicing every moment I get! It was not an easy journey, as I am a working mama and wife. I had to sit down with my family to carve out time for me to focus on my work without compromising time spent from them. I’ve learned to truly pace myself and never take on more than what I can handle. I want the world to prepare to be SICK-A-ME! My goal is to hit the ground running this year and make my name known, so that I can turn around and make His Name known!


Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Believe it or not, my introverted side seems to reign supreme, BUT that does not stop this tummy from being full. I love to eat and brunch is probably my favorite! I love Sunny Street Cafe and Seven Mile Cafe! The Fort Worth Stockyards is always a sight to see and Sundance Square is a great place to be at night with the family! We also love frequenting the Fort Worth Zoo!


The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
YES! Shoutout to MY mentor and friend, Taishi Ligon of CookieJoySanAngelo! She is a legit role-model and has been there for me since day one when I reached out to her with a question, not thinking someone of her caliber would even answer me!
