We had the good fortune of connecting with Della Roskey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Della, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I’ve always known since I was young that I wanted to be an entrepreneur, but I never thought it would be in the gift-giving business. The idea came to me when I moved out of state. Gift giving has always been a big deal to me. I’m the type of person who gives other people gifts on my own birthday, but when I moved away from family and friends, that all seemed to stop. I suddenly went from giving and receiving personal gifts with bows and ribbons to generic gifts in a brown shipping box that lacked excitement for the celebration. I knew it had to change. Through this thought process Giveth Gifts and Co. was born.

What should our readers know about your business?
Started in 2019, Giveth Gifts & Co. is the premier destination for all gifting needs. Every gift box is hand wrapped starting with our signature black box, private label tissue paper and finished with a silk ribbon bow. All gifts are personalized upon request. Giveth Gifts & Co. provides shipping nationwide and delivery in select areas.

What sets us about from other gifting services is that, Giveth partners with other small business owners around the country. So. when choosing Giveth Gifts & Co. you are not supporting just us, but other small businesses as well.

Lessons I’ve learned along the way. 1) Not everything is going to be perfect 2) Sound confident when talking about your business and products even when doubting yourself. 3) Learn your clientele and what they want.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There are many beautiful and cool places to visit in DFW Texas. Here is a list on my top 5 ( in no particular order)

Dallas Farmers Market – Home to locally-owned small businesses with shopping and eats throughout
Hearth Cafe – Brunch spot with great food and mimosas
Deep Ellum- Entertainment district that goes for blocks
Lili’s Bistro- Perfect date night spot with live music
Cedar Ridge Preserve- Nature habitat featuring trails and gardens

Becoming an entrepreneur and bringing a vision to life isn’t easy. But with the right people around, some things become easier.
