We had the good fortune of connecting with Deambra Collins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Deambra, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was making my local neighborhoods healthier by providing them with more options outside of the typical fast food we all grew up on. It’s been proven that when you’re healthier you operate better mentally, physically & emotionally.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The thing that sets me apart from others is that I truly aspire to make communities of people Healthy. Keeping your health in check prevents you from having to take medications and live uncomfortably. I want people to smile once they taste the love I put in my food. There’s so many people that try my healthier options that never would’ve thought twice about ordering from someone else’s menu. It’s not easy trying to get people to change their lifestyles but as I’ve been taking this serious since this year I see a few repeat customers glowing and lost weight. I myself struggle with fluctuating weight but as long as you stay consistent it actually stays off. The lessons I’ve learned along the way is patience. Without patience you’ll miss out on some valuable opportunities for growth. I want the world to know that the little people deserve good food too without having to travel far out to get it as well as spending an arm and a leg to enjoy it.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’d first take them hiking at Cedar Ridge Preserve. Then right after clean ourselves up and head to brunch at the Biscuit Bar because their salads are the only ones outside of myself that sends my taste buds soaring. A cool little night spot would be ended at The Freeman or Sandaga 813 because their food and live Local entertainment will have you dancing and eating with a big smile on your face.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The people I’d love to thank would most definitely be my tribe of people within my community who encourages me everyday to be great even when I feel like I’m at my lowest. Encouragement & support doesn’t have to be monetary but more importantly spiritual. The one person I’d like to give a little extra credit to would be my best friend Jaree of “Sho’Nuff Cleaning”. This girl has went above and beyond to make sure I never lose sight of my dreams. From helping with my ideas, promoting my brand while she’s silently building a dope portfolio herself in the cleaning industry, purchasing and participating in every single thing I’ve done since 2018 as an entrepreneur & the list goes on. When someone recognizes your vision & helps to execute it you keep them right beside you.
