We had the good fortune of connecting with Daziah Green and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Daziah, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I am from Canton, Ohio. Canton is a city that not a lot of people travel to and majority of the people don’t make it out. Some have dreams but very few choose to chase after them because there isn’t many examples to look up to, and never seen it happen. It’s tough to think beyond the things you have experienced or think about the future because you just want to make it through to the next day, we live to survive and see another day. The city is high in poverty rates and top 10 in crimes in the nation, just to paint a picture. So seeing this, experiencing this, and almost getting sucked in it motivated me to not be in this same place when I got older. I never followed a crowd, and always walked my own path. Sports kept me focused and helped me build some key characteristics I live by today like unity, strength, discipline, determination.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a self- taught artist. I have an art business called Double Customs that I own with my twin sister. We specialize in creating custom pieces of artwork like canvas paintings, portraits, hand painted clothing, hand painted shoes, graphic designs and logos, and more. I have been blessed to be able to work for myself since I was 21. The hardest part about it was not having any knowledge on how to run a business. One thing I did learn was that you will make mistakes, you will take some losses, you may not get your return on investment, but in the end it’s all worth it. We kept going and growing our following and now we serve people all across the world. I have helped over 200 people in the past year start new businesses to provide for their families and communities.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m more of a home body but I love getting out and enjoying nature. I love grounding, earthing, meditating, and doing yoga so I would find an area where I can go and relax. I like hiking as well some of my favorite trails are Cedar Ridge, Katy Trail. Some other cool places I like to go are Fort Worth Water Gardens, The Beach at Little Elm Park, Dallas Farmers Market, Deep Ellum- I love the artwork there. I am Vegan so I love exploring and trying new vegan dishes but my favorite vegan restaurant is Spiral Diner and Bakery. I also like Jeff’s Vegan, The Healthy Hippie Cafe, Blue Sushi Sake Grill, FireHouse Gastro Park, and OMG Tacos have great vegan tacos,

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
