We had the good fortune of connecting with Daylon and Lauren Moore and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Daylon and Lauren, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
For our 3 boys we’ve always instilled the idea to be accepting of all walks of life and to be of service any time you can. We teach them, and show them in practice, to always be willing to help and that going out of your way to be of service is a reward in itself. We want them to contribute goodness into the world on whatever scale they can.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
For the last 3 years we’ve served couples around the country as wedding filmmakers. We document love stories and weddings and create visual art to lock that moment in time. My path started as a teacher. It was through that that I was asked to film our first wedding for a friend and we fell in love with all that came with the experience. After filming that first wedding, I knew I wanted to jump in full time. It took some time but I eventually made the jump. It was incredibly scary at first. Leaving a steady job and consistent paycheck, for an inconsistent financial situation was the biggest obstacle to manage. There was a lot we learned in the first year. But through practice and advice from our mentors, we’ve continued to grow. Our main purpose is to serve our couples in any capacity we can. Of course we’re there to visually document it, but we are with them on one of the happiest days of their lives and we want their experience to take top priority. We capture in the best way we can without impacting any part of the wedding day experience. We’re our couples’ number one fans and love that we get to meet and spend quality time with so many new people each year. Knowing we get to document a part of someone’s legacy is extremely fulfilling.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We’re still giant kids at heart and still love to do all of the fun things! Six Flags Over Texas and Hurricane Harbor will always be at the top of our list of places to go and let loose. We’d also visit the different locations of The Escape Game in the DFW area because we a bigs fans of escape rooms! A great place to grab a bite is Village Burger Bar in Dallas. Their burgers are amazing!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
A huge shoutout goes to our mentors we’ve worked with over the years. We’ve looked up many other wedding filmmakers in the industry and they have been of great help in moving us along on the right path. In particular, Stanton Giles of Films by Stanton and John Bonn and Nick Miller of How to Film Weddings. The things we have learned over the years from these guys have been invaluable!

Also, we give a shoutout to the support of our families. They have been our biggest cheerleaders in everything we’ve accomplished!
