We had the good fortune of connecting with David Bentinck and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi David, what matters most to you?
There are few that I am passionate about sharing because I know it will help others! For one, it’s not the destination, it’s about the journey. More importantly who you become as a part of being on the journey. I believe if you learn to fall in love with the process and not the final destination, the person you become is even more important than the goal itself. I’m enjoying the process of who I’m becoming. If you knew me 6 years ago you wouldn’t recognize me now. The way I talk, the way I act, the way I move, my mindset, it’s different. Where I am at in life was all set up from prior failures and experiences. I know what it is like to have and come from nothing. I work as if I could lose it all tomorrow because I know success is rented and rent is due every day.
Enjoying the journey helps you evolve. However it definitely isn’t possible without having a growth mindset. Growth takes place when you are challenged, not when you are comfortable. The last few years have been filled with so many uncomfortable moments, but with God by my side, I lean into the struggle. Under pressure, creates diamonds.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I believe that money changes hands when problems are solved. I quickly realized that the bigger the problem that is solved, the higher the reward. Truly, the key goal for me and what I strive for on a daily basis is to eliminate the complexities of home buying and home selling for our clients, and solve their real estate challenges. Here is a fun fact: a national survey for the Most & Least Trusted Professions has Real Estate Agents not too far from Used Car Salesmen. I didn’t want to be seen in this light. So, I became obsessed with innovating the process of buying and selling, making the experience better for my clients.I was determined and up for the challenge to change the reputation people hold for agents. What sets me apart from the pack and how I am able to accomplish innovating and making that experience better is by becoming a Certified Home Selling Advisor through the National Association of Expert Advisors. Through this recognition, I am able to help my buyers and sellers through the 115-plus variables it takes to either purchase or sell a home. I believe that training is something you do, not something you did. World-class Olympians, professional athletes are a few amongst others who train day in and day out on their craft. I attended several bootcamps through the National Association of Expert Advisors, who were co-founded by my good friends and mentors Mr. Jay Kinder and Mr. Michael Reese, to train myself like a navy seal, put my clients in the best position to win, and to really hone in on my craft. I believe in giving my clients world-class, white-glove experience. I have so much passion for this training that I have become an official Coach with the National Association of Expert Advisors to help other agents give them a unique opportunity to become the Go-To Expert Advisor in their market.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First stop, I would probably make them get a workout with me. I believe that health is wealth, and I hope they enjoy working out as much as I do. Don’t worry, I’ll treat them to some authentic Texas Barbecue thereafter. Depending on where we are at, it would either have to be Hutchins in downtown Mckinney, Pecan Lounge in Deep Ellum. Next few days we will check out the attractions that Dallas and Fort Worth have to offer. Quick brunch, then off to the Katy Trail to people watch, and burn off the calories. hopefully have time hit the Perot Museum. Definitely a steak dinner at the swanky Town Hearth or Nick and Sam’s.
We’ll shoot up to Frisco where we will visit Legacy West so I can show them how cool Legacy Food Hall is then head over to walk on the field at The Star in Frisco. Go karting in Andretti’s not too far at GrandScape in The Colony then dinner reservations for steaks at Dee Lincoln Prime. Havana Dee’s cigar room to follow.
A full day would definitely be in Fort Worth to visit the Stockyards. There we’ll catch the rodeo, and the famous Cattle Drive. Not to forget fajitas at Joe T. Garcia’s.
Depending on the time of year, hopefully we can catch a Mavericks or Stars Game where the energy is contagious! If its football season we will catch a Cowboys game with a quick tour of the stadium in Arlington followed by some drinks at Texas live.
Last but certainly not least, I must introduce them to the best tacos hands down in DFW at the El Ranchero Meat Market in Irving, Texas.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Of course my parents without a doubt. They are my support system, my biggest fans, and my best friends. My mom actually came from Mexico, worked 2 jobs while going to college to try and provide a decent life for my 2 older brothers and I and my Dad worked like crazy as well. Nothing was given to us on a silver platter and I wouldn’t change how I grew up for the world. Their work ethics really instilled in me to become a “Go-Getter”. I learned at an early age from them the principles of hard work and the value of honesty which I translate those core values into my business to this day. I would also like to give a huge shoutout to Nick Good, my mentor and the man who has molded me into the agent I am today. Lastly, I would like to give a shoutout to anyone who has supported my business in anyway, whether that be my past and current clients who trust me with their real estate needs, or anyone who has referred my name from afar, I appreciate all of you.
