We had the good fortune of connecting with Darvis Dones and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Darvis, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Well basically I knew fresh out of high school college just wasn’t for me. I was already having a hard time trying to focus in high school, so I knew it wouldn’t function in college. So I just decided to get a job, I was filling out applications everywhere. Warehouse, wherever you name it. But my actual first job I started working for a call center which I was getting my feet wet but I had the customer service voice and I was a people person so I had the personality. That first call center took me to like 2-3 over the course of maybe five years. It was like time was going by so fast working in a call center. Don’t get me wrong the money was good but I started to drift off. It started to not be for me anymore. Again I’ve always been a people person, someone you could talk to and who wouldn’t judge or call you out or throw it back in your face. Long story short I’ve heard so many crazy stories about from what people have told me. But when I tell them mine it’s like mine was unbelievable and how could I still be keeping a smile on my face and etc. I never knew how emotionally messed up I was behind my smile that I wore so perfectly. I set out then to write a book on my life, I didn’t know where the book was going to go or if anyone would ever read it or even support and purchase. I just knew something was burning inside of me to do it. So I’m so focused of my book I got let go from my job I didn’t care I was so excited about my book and sharing with the world.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
So A Little More About me is I’m a very determined person. If I see something I want I go for it. It’s 2021 and I just finally figured out this whole time I’ve been having anxiety 😂 but overall what I am so proud about is me personally. I’m proud I never gave up on myself because many times I wanted to. I’m proud my book which I had know idea would be doing amazing how it is steady growing and now I’m on part three of the saga of my life story. Life is so crazy I would have never in a million years even if someone told me this was my path I’d be ghost writing and also self publishing books and doing hair. Which all these things I had been doing since I was a child would be baffling to me. But mainly I got where I’m at because again I never gave up on myself and I use my 24hrs wisely now and I set goals for myself and push myself even harder. Nothing is ever easy. It just all depends on if you want it or not. You’ll know if you have a passion for something or not. Also some of the lessons I learned was money management and don’t take anyone else’s advice but your own. I should have learned that from diamond when she said it on the players club 😂. Other then that what I want the world to know about me is that I mess up, but I get right back up and get myself together. It’s hard sometimes for me, I have my days but I’m a good person and if you are in my corner I will make sure you or on the road to success as well. I have no fairytale life even though I make it look good. Behind the scenes makes me who I am. Makes me want to work and go harder. I thank god for the smallest things because he definitely provides more than I could ever ask for.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
So let me tell you I’m actually a homebody. Lmao no one asks me nothing about going nowhere because I’d rather stay in the house but if I just had to go somewhere it would be shopping at the mall even though I’m an online shopper 😂. We could do mall and then out to eat to Ruth Chris and then we could go back home and chill or they could go do something by themselves lmao
