We had the good fortune of connecting with Danisha Egans and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Danisha, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I wanted to start a business to create more opportunities not just for myself, but for others as well. It makes me happy to be able to have a business that supports others earning wages that they are proud of.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am the owner of Balance Cleaning, LLC. This a start up that I established with providing a much needed service to others in mind. While I am a business owner, I am also employed full time as an adult educator. Balance has always been key for me, and hiring a cleaning service is something that I had to do for myself long ago. I knew that others could benefit from having someone that they could trust to come into their home and show it some love. All of our service providers enter customers’ homes with this in mind! It can be challenging to find individuals to work on our team with the same vision. This is why I personally meet with every potential provider and have them submit a background check, before having them join our team. It can be time consuming, but my customers are worth it! This business allows my passion for empowerment, selfcare, and people to shine.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Wow! Dallas has so much to offer, so, firstly, I would suggest that they come on a weekend so that we would have time to explore the city. For a Friday night, I would suggest dinner and drinks at Gloria’s (you can’t go wrong there). We would follow up by checking out some of the cool spots and art in Deep Ellum and end the night at The Free Man on Commerce to hear some live music.

Saturday morning, we could stroll through the Dallas Arboretum or take a hike at the Cedar Ridge Preserve. After working up an appetite, we could swing by the Truck Yard in Lowest Greenville and enjoy a philly cheese steak sandwich, and again more live music. If we are up for it, we can explore some of the night life in Addison a little later.

A trip to Dallas would not be complete without BRUNCH! We will finish the weekend with brunch at Jonathan’s in Oak Cliff. It’s safe to say that, “I LOOOOVE Dallas.”

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate this shout out to my family for always supporting me in all of my endeavors. I am inspired daily by them to continue achieving. They also help guide me. Because of them, ethical leadership is something that I consider and use to set the tone in all of the roles that I have.
