We had the good fortune of connecting with Danielle Bertrand and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Danielle, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Renewed Consulting Firm helps the community by offering trainings and professional developments to districts for educators to prevent/reverse burnout.
We are experiencing a great shift in people leaving careers they once loved due to the mental stress of burnout.
As an educator, I understand and have recovered successfully from burnout. It takes a toll on every area of your life. Being able to identify the symptoms will help stop it before it overtakes someone.
The work I do not only helps the educators but also their students, the parents and the community overall. Educators that thrive inside and outside of the classroom is the ultimate goal.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I didn’t think this is where I would be. I started off as a paraprofessional that then became a certified teacher. I enjoyed what I was doing but experienced burnout year 2 of my career. It caused me to step away and reflect on the warning signs that I had missed. Once I was able to address them and recover, I was able to go back in the classroom and I have successfully completed a 10 year career.
While teaching, I had a passion for assisting my coworkers, I enjoyed showing them strategies and providing feedback for improvement. That lead me to earn my Master’s in the Art of Teaching with an emphasis in Teacher Leadership.
After getting a burden on my heart for educators that are experiencing burnout, I knew through God and my mentor, Dr. Elisa Harney, it was time to purse a business where helping others was the main focus. Being able to present to my peers has been a wonderful experience. Showing them that they matter beyond the classroom has given me joy and them clarity and confidence to keep moving ahead. The Burned Out to Blazing Experience is my signature professional development training. We are excited to be TEA approved where we are able to provide Continuing Learning Units for educators in in Texas.
I also created “The Orchard” exclusively for female educators as a place of celebration, cultivation and collaboration to strengthen their core. We are currently accepting applications for this six month cohort. We need a space to learn, grow and connect with practical and biblical strategies.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would head over to Grandscape. There is so much to do. We would go to World Springs, grab a bite at Walk Ons and catch a movie. The other time would be spent at local malls and museums. There is so much to explore. We can’t forget about brunch. Brunch Room Bistro in Forney, TX is amazing. It’s so easy to find a good spot to listen to some live music. We would make sure we made it to The Way Fellowship Church of Dallas for Wednesday night bible study and Sunday service. It is a place God continues to show up and we have amazing leaders.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shoutout my husband, Lance Bertrand, the owner of Excellence I.T. His continued support pushes move towards my goals daily. He doesn’t allow me to sit in excuses but helps me figure out solutions.
