We had the good fortune of connecting with Daniela Romo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Daniela, how do you think about risk?
I believe risks are meant to be taken to grow whether success is guaranteed or not. I stand by “the biggest risk is not taking any risk” because taking that chance could possibly become your biggest opportunity. The first risk I ever took was to drop out of college after my first year to prioritize my business when it grew attention and clientele and it became my career. The second was to attend cosmetology school after 3 years of saving. My clientele was steady and busy and school was only going to get in the way of that. I pursued school full time to finish as quick as possible but it consumed so much of my time that I wasn’t able to work as much and all my free time went into working. Here I am a year later working full time in the nail industry and starting my journey to become a hairstylist. There are only two outcomes in taking risks, either you fail and learn from it or you grow and open opportunities.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My business has been my biggest accomplishment. I’m so proud of what I’ve created and my skill/work. I’ve gotten where I’m at in my career by being passionate and worked long hours to give my girls the best I can. It hasn’t always been easy because I didn’t have anyone to guide me in my career or to help with certain bumps on the road but it took a lot of patience in learning and experience. I’ve learned you can’t rush your art and becoming impatient will only affect your work and your mindset.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m always down for a drink so I definitely like a crowd and good music, I like 7th street to club or to just sit at a bar for a drink. One of my favorite spots to eat is definitely king crab house in Grand Prairie , I swear they have the best seafood boil. Most fun thing I’ve done so far that would be a good time with a partner/ friend group would be “icx” they have good drinks and so many games to do like batting cages, golfing. Etc. I always love to go to arcades and have a good time.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My parents and sister for always believing in me and my success. My family ,close friends, and my partner constantly motivated me to pursue cosmo and to never doubt my career journey when it was so stressful. Im grateful for the support my clientele has given me, I’ve build relationships with them and they’ve always shown so much love to me and my business. My mentor who has been teaching me a lot about the hair industry and has given me so much opportunity to grow at her salon.
