We had the good fortune of connecting with Daniel Parrish and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Daniel, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
My balance of time has changed over time due to the fact of my priorities. When I started my career it was just me. But soon thereafter I got Mari and had a family and noticed how easily work can take over the time that you have available. Typical office jobs care only enough about your personal time as long as you’re getting your work done. They are not as focused on the amount of time you were able to spend with your kids, wife, and family. I noticed that I was coming home burnt out from work and I wanted a change. So when I started my own firm I wanted to make sure that I was not overly exhausted when I had time for my family. I also chose to make more time with them creating memories. We try To make sure that everyone has a healthy work-life balance so that they bring their best version of themselves to work.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets us apart as a firm compared to other architectural firms Is the winner only build a relationship with the clients but we help ensure that they are educated on the entire project every step of the way. Make sure that they understand and feel knowledgeable about all things that are going on. Communication is extremely key. I’ve gotten to where I am today all based on these principles in these great relationships. It was the great relationship status of me in my earlier years that provide me with the opportunity to start my firm. While it was extremely hard and not easy, it was all worth it. I will easily do it again.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was to visit me in the city I would happily tell them to go to Pecan Lodge or Terry Black’s Barbecue to enjoy some of Dallas’s best barbecue! From there I would say head over to Whiskeys by the State Fair for the best whiskey in town.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shoutout to my wife Devin for holding me together while we have taken this journey. She has been there to provide support and encouragement for me to do what I love.
