We had the good fortune of connecting with Dani Badgett and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dani, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
Value. The value that our team and business has to offer. It’s so easy to fall into the trap of imposter syndrome and not feel like you are enough. That mindset will flow into every aspect of business if not corrected: content creation, pricing, and conversations. You have to personally know your own value and believe in what you have to offer other people. Believing that our trainings have the capacity to change lives and that we’ve been perfectly designed and positioned to offer these trainings to others is something that I’m still learning.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Our story is very unique! We started as three close friends in higher education at a school in Indiana. We were immediately drawn to each other because of our desire to create change. What we quickly realized was that change has to be sustained and people need tangible action steps. While our professional careers took us in different directions, we all came back together to form Brave The Cycle in 2020. It has not been easy at all, but we all consider it such a privilege to be able to build with each other. We’ve learned how to lean on each other’s strengths and talents when it comes to building our business.

We believe what sets us apart is our ability to engage people in tough conversations concerning diversity, inclusion, and belonging. We rely on our thee values of empathy, courage, and curiosity to guide participants on a path to create tangible actions steps towards change in their own lives or organizations.

We have mainly been focused on higher education institutions over the past two years, but this year we are excited to say that we are also training corporate and non-profit organizations.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh this is great question! My business partners are actually coming to Dallas in November, and I’m in the process of planning the itinerary. First we are getting an Airbnb near Lake Lewisville. They are coming for our team retreat, and the lake is so beautiful and peaceful. There are also many things to do in that area.
I’ll be taking them to two of my favorite restaurants: Uncle Betos Mexican Restaurant in Pilot Point and Uncork’d Bar and Grill in Frisco. We’ll also be stopping by the Cookie Society for dessert. After that we’ll likely head to downtown Dallas and explore. We want to do some team building activities like escape rooms, but I haven’t found the perfect place yet.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family! There are too many to name, but they are ALL my lifeline. From the encouragement of my siblings, the tough love of cousins, prayers of Aunties/uncles/grandparents, guidance of my stepmom, support of close friends (Joy & Tony) and unconditional love from my biggest supporter – My Momma!
