Meet Daisy Trevizo: Hair Stylist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Daisy Trevizo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Daisy, what makes you happy? Why?
My faith in God makes me happy. If you allow God to be first in your life he will do the rest for you. As humans we tend to forget that without God we would be nothing, our health and successes are thanks to him!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
When I was 17 years old I decided to pursue a cosmetology career. It was challenging because there’s many people who do not consider cosmetology a “real career”. I started beauty school at 17 making me the youngest beauty student at the time. I always dreamed of opening up my own hair salon but I figured it was impossible. After years of working hard behind the chair I decided that I was finally going to do it. I started off with a tiny suite with only 1 station. And now I have a beautiful hair salon with lots of space. I’m so grateful for all the highs and the lows. They have helped mold me into who I am today. The hair industry isn’t always rainbows and unicorns.. like any other career there are pros and cons. Owning a hair salon is definately not for everyone. It requires someone to put in overtimes overtime in order for your business to succeed. Times can get tough. You have to plan ahead for everything. Especially with unforeseen times like the Pandemic going on at the moment. COVID-19 has affected many beauty businesses around the world. These are very scary times where everyone is uncertain about what will happen next. Passion overcomes anything if you work hard enough. Seeing the beauty community come together during these difficult times has been so rewarding. I can’t wait for us all to get back to doing what we love!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am not from Texas so this has always been kind of challenging for me. I love hanging out in downtown Forth Worth. I love how historical it is and I also love how many things there is to do there. There is a restaurant there called Yukatan they have the best margaritas for a good girls day! I also love going to the movies so we would probably stop by studio movie grill.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I also wouldn’t be where I am today if it weren’t for my family. My family has always been so supportive towards me and if I have to be quite honest they’re the reason I have taken most of my leaps of faith. The world would be a scary place for me without the support of my family. I’m so grateful for their continued support. In a world full of so much hate I feel blessed to have such a strong support system behind me.
