We had the good fortune of connecting with Daisy Close and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Daisy, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
While some may perceive this as a rather difficult and never-ending question, I like to believe there’s always only one clear and correct answer to this question, and that is to never give up. I know it’s easier said than done; however, I also believe it’s a mentality we choose to set each and every morning for ourselves. We must choose to wake up with a positive attitude and outlook, not only towards the day ahead of us but also for our future, which includes all of our aspirations, hopes, and dreams. I believe the worst thing we can do in this lifetime is to give up on not only ourselves but also on the dreams that have filled our hearts with such passion and love for life. I think despite the inevitable challenges we are bound to face in life, we must stay persistent with our dreams and never allow the chaos of the world around us to become so overwhelming that we start to lose sight of or forget who we really are. I think once we begin to recognize how sacred, valuable, and quick our time on this Earth is as individuals, the more we will start to appreciate how beautiful it is to have a dream and wholeheartedly believe in it regardless of the outcome. The older I become, the deeper perspective I have on the world around me, as the days seem to fly by faster than the next with each passing year. Having a dream is one of the best gifts we can give ourselves. It’s a constant challenge for ourselves to grow not only in the direction of our dreams but also in our faith, self-worth, and ultimately in our own self-awareness, as we are constantly able to discover new areas of ourselves that we wish to improve but have never noticed before, allowing us to witness our fullest potential. It would be such a shame to never be able to witness our full potential during our time on this earth as individuals. That always challenges me to stay active, not only in my body but, more importantly, in my mind. I’ve made a testament to myself since I was young that I would never let anything or anyone stop me, set limits for me, or get in my way when it comes to achieving my dreams. I believe my dreams speak a lot for myself, as my dreams are one of the most influential gifts I have to offer the world. The most powerful revelation is realizing our dreams are all fueled by our sole name. Daisy Close. Through my dreams, I get to show who I am, what I represent, and who I want the world to know me as. I believe we are all culminating on this earth at this very moment for a reason. Some discover their purpose early on in their lives, some later. I knew exactly who I was created to become since I was a little girl. I know the legacy and story I want to leave for myself, but more importantly, for my family and for future generations to come. I want to defeat mediocrity and take my family to new heights like they have never seen before. I want to be a positive inspiration for kids and all those around me to ultimately prove my point that anyone can accomplish their dreams, big or small, regardless of who they are or where they come from, so long as they work hard, believe in themselves, and believe in the power of their dreams. I don’t know when my time will be. I may never know, but I do know I would rather spend my last breath believing in my dreams rather than feeling regret and reminiscing on “what if?” rather than “what next?” for the only thing that can ever kill your dreams is the prospect of failure and giving up. Failure is forgivable as it teaches us how to be human; however, giving up is a choice we mustn’t make unless certain so. What is a life left without passion and love? Passion is powerful. The choice is yours; I have decided what my choice will be. What will you choose?

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Absolutely! I believe the passion and love I have for singing, songwriting, and acting, along with the story and message I wish to convey through my talents, set me apart from others in the entertainment industry. I believe it’s such a gift to be talented at something, but as we mature, our talents transport us to a whole different world once we begin to discover how our talent can be used as a ticket to truly making a difference and positively leaving an impact on the world as a whole. Receiving this knowledge is powerful. Knowing I have the toolkit necessary to be a difference-maker and a world-changer at the touch of my fingertips empowers me to rise higher and push myself to reach new heights every day. I am most proud and excited about my debut EP. I’ve been talking about it for a while now, and I appreciate all of those who have been so patient with me throughout my music-making process. I believe great work can never be rushed and that I’ve made something really special that hopefully resonates with all of you as much as it resonates with me. Getting to where I am today professionally certainly took overcoming many challenges, obstacles, and struggles throughout the course of my life. I think the most beautiful and gratifying part about where I am now in my career is the fact that I still have so much more to learn and grow, but I’ve already overcome so much that has led me to the success I have experienced thus far in my career. Knowing I still have so much more to learn and space to grow challenges me to be better at everything that I do. I believe I have used the many challenges I have faced throughout pursuing my career in the entertainment industry as fuel and strength for my dreams. I truly believe that if it weren’t for all of the obstacles I’ve faced and people who have made me feel inferior, I wouldn’t be where I am today professionally. Truthfully, the entertainment industry is a very challenging career path on its own, let alone dealing with the exterior pressures that come with it, such as feeling a need to rely on others approval and worrying about others opinions. Everyone around you is a critic, and it’s ultimately up to you to decide what you choose to listen to and what you choose to let go of. It’s an endless, tricky dynamic that we as artists face and must always take into careful consideration. One of the most important lessons I’ve learned along the way is to stay true to who you are, regardless of what others might think or say. If you constantly wonder about what others are thinking or saying about you, then you might miss out on what your heart has been trying to tell you all of this time. As I said earlier, as hard as it might be, it’s so important that we block out all of that external noise so we can really listen to what our heart is telling us, because the heart wants what the heart wants, and the heart is never wrong. I want the world to know that I’m never going to give up. I don’t know what’s in store for my future, but I do know that I’ll always keep on fighting for my dreams, going above and beyond, and only giving my absolute best while doing so. I want the world to be able to know my authentic story, who I really am, and what I ever so proudly represent as Daisy Close. I can’t promise much, but that’s certainly a promise I can guarantee from my heart to yours.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
How exciting! I grew up in Dallas, so she would have the best tour guide, as I know the area both inside and out! If my best friend was visiting the area, I would start by taking her to the Dallas Galleria Mall for the best girl shopping spree! We would start the day by having breakfast at Corner Bakery inside the galleria. They have so many delicious breakfast choices, with my go-to order being a hot Americano, of course! The day doesn’t officially start until I’ve had my coffee! Next, I order their “Garden Gate Scrambler.” I like to customize my bowl with scrambled egg whites, feta cheese, red peppers, mushrooms, spinach, and green onions. It always gives me the fuel I need to kickstart my day! Next, we’ll go shopping at the Galleria, where we can shop until we drop at all of our favorite stores, from H&M to VS Pink. I’m sure you all know how much I especially love those two stores! Then we can stop to enjoy some delectable lunch at one of my all-time favorite restaurants, none other than the Grand Lux Cafe, which is also inside the Galleria Mall. Not only is it gorgeous inside, but the food is to die for! My favorite dish I’ve tried so far has been their “Ahi Tuna Salad,” which includes sushi-grade ahi with mixed greens, potato, tomato, green beans, beets, and Kalamata olives! It’s such a good dish that always hits the spot! I love sushi, so it’s almost like a sushi salad, if that makes sense. It has the tangy and zesty flavor of ahi tuna while giving it a crisp crunch with the mixed greens and vegetable pairings. After lunch, we’ll shop some more and then end the day at the Galleria Ice Skating Center, where we’ll go ice skating! Ice skating is so much fun, but it’s even more fun when it’s indoors and with your best friend! My favorite time to go to the Galleria is at Christmastime, when I’m in the area visiting family. They have a huge Christmas tree right in the middle of the ice skating rink, with lots of festive decorations and activities to check out! There are so many other fun things to do and places to visit in Dallas, but that’s just one of my ideas for a fun-filled day with lots of great shopping and good food! We’ll surely have a fabulous time!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Absolutely! I would like to dedicate this shoutout first and foremost to my incredible mother, Nina Close. I would not be anywhere near where I am today in either my personal or professional life if it hadn’t been for my mom‘s endless love, support, and guidance throughout the course of my life. My mom is my best friend. We’ve always been super close, and I believe all of the obstacles we’ve had to overcome together have only strengthened our relationship and given us this unbreakable bond like no other. My mom is my inspiration. She is such a hardworking, compassionate, and kindhearted individual. She is the most selfless person. It’s so inspiring to witness her, as she’s always putting the needs of others before herself. She has filled me with such strength in so many ways, but especially when it comes to the determination I have to pursue my dreams. There were many times when my mom was the only one who truly believed in me, and her undoubted belief still means the world to me. I want to achieve my dreams not only for the sake of myself and the younger me inside, but also for my mom. She deserves the world, and I’m determined to work my hardest so that one day I am able to give it to her. One of my dreams is to buy her dream home one day. It would mean absolutely everything to give back to the woman who has given me so much. I would also like to dedicate this shoutout to all of my family and friends, especially my family all the way in Peru, who support my dreams in the entertainment industry even miles away. No support given to me ever gets taken for granted, and I am eternally grateful for each and every person who believes in my mission to leave a positive impact on the world through the performing arts. I would also like to thank all of my teachers, mentors, and educators because I believe that knowledge is one of the most generous gifts that can be given and can be applied in countless ways. And lastly, I would like to give much credit and recognition to those who have come before me and those who will come after me. The ones who have sacrificed so much for me so that today I am able to wholeheartedly follow my dreams and receive all of the opportunities they wished they could have had back then. I am infatuated with my family’s history and background, and I aspire to tell their stories, share their culture, and represent their hard work through everything that I do in my future career in the entertainment industry as a tribute to the infinite love I have for my family.
