Meet Curtis Ludwig | Chief Celebration Officer & Mobile Bar Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Curtis Ludwig and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Curtis, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
For years, I told my wife that when I “retired,” I wanted to be a bartender on a beach—serving drinks, meeting people, and creating great vibes. With Sip Social Dallas and our custom Italian-made Piaggio Ape truck, I’ve brought that vision to life—just with a mobile twist. Now, I can set up my beach bar anywhere in the DFW metroplex and deliver that same laid-back, elevated experience to a wide range of events—from weddings and engagement parties to corporate functions and brand activations for companies like Pilates studios and liquor brands.
My years in corporate America taught me the importance of having multiple points of entry to build a sustainable business. I knew that to truly thrive, I needed to offer more than just a product—I needed flexibility, creativity, and a business model that could scale across different markets. Just as important, I had to be passionate about what I was building. That’s what Sip Social Dallas represents: an exciting blend of experience, hospitality, and fun—all poured into a glass and delivered with style.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Until I started Sip Social Dallas, I spent my entire career as a leader within large organizations. I’ve always been driven by the belief that there’s a better way to do things—whether it’s improving processes, elevating the customer experience, or empowering the teams delivering that experience. I tried to stay away from phrases like “That’s just how we do it” or “That’s our process,” and instead focused on identifying opportunities for growth, innovation, and continuous improvement.
One thing that helped me stand out professionally was my ability to communicate across all levels of an organization—framing problems clearly, aligning on desired outcomes, and being transparent when challenges came up. And when they did (because they always do), I owned them. I didn’t hide from issues; I addressed them head-on, adapted quickly, and kept my team focused on the bigger goal.
That mindset is at the heart of Sip Social Dallas. The mission is simple: create the best possible experience for every guest we serve. Whether it’s a wedding, a corporate activation, or a private celebration, we bring a fun, elevated, and highly personalized bar experience. Things don’t always go perfectly—maybe the lines are pouring slowly or the venue setup changes at the last minute—but what sets us apart is how we respond. We lean into the moment, keep the energy positive, and make sure every interaction feels effortless and memorable for the customer.
What I’m most proud of is that we’ve built a brand that doesn’t just serve drinks—we create moments. And that focus on experience, adaptability, and authentic connection is what I want the world to know about Sip Social Dallas.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We actually got the chance to do this very thing recently! Some of our closest friends from Seattle came to visit, and we made it our mission to give them a weeklong taste of everything the Dallas–Fort Worth area has to offer—from rugged charm to cosmopolitan luxury.
We kicked off the trip just west of Fort Worth with a stay at Greystone Castle, a true sportsman’s paradise. We opted for a round of sporting clays, which turned out to be the perfect group activity—fun, competitive, and inclusive for everyone, regardless of experience. The experience was made even better by the private chef who prepared incredible meals featuring game from the property. It was the perfect start to an unforgettable week.
Next, we made our way to Fort Worth and checked into the Hotel Drover, right in the heart of the Stockyards. It gave our friends a taste of Texas heritage at its finest. They picked up boots from Leddy Brothers, caught the afternoon cattle drive, and ended the day with legendary Tex-Mex and margaritas in the garden at Joe T. Garcia’s.
After that, we shifted gears and headed to Dallas for the second half of the trip, staying at the historic and elegant Adolphus Hotel—a personal favorite of ours, especially on New Year’s Eve. We spent a day relaxing in a cabana at the rooftop pool, soaking in the sunshine and city views. For dinner, we took them to Nick & Sam’s, which is hands-down our favorite steakhouse in DFW. The service and cuisine are always outstanding, and it’s a true Dallas staple.
The next day, we explored Bishop Arts District—a hidden gem that feels like a mini version of NYC or Chicago tucked into the heart of Dallas. We enjoyed brunch, boutique shopping, and wine tasting. As members of Barons Creek Winery, we made sure our friends got to experience their delicious Cava and welcoming vibe.
To wrap up the week, we had a final dinner at The Mexican, one of the most beautiful restaurants in the world. Their modern take on Mexican cuisine—with a steakhouse flair—was an absolute hit. After dinner, we headed to the cigar bar, where we sampled premium cigars and a curated tequila tasting led by their in-house tequila sommelier. It was the perfect capstone to a week full of incredible food, experiences, and memories.
In our view, DFW is full of rich contrasts—laid-back and luxurious, historic and modern—and that’s exactly what we wanted our friends to experience. There’s no place quite like it.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
As corny as it may sound, my wife absolutely deserves a huge shoutout for the role she’s played in inspiring and supporting me. During COVID—a time that challenged us all—she leaned into her creativity and began refining her floral design skills simply because it brought joy to her and to others. Then in 2021, when our daughter asked her to do the florals for her wedding, something really clicked. After a few thoughtful consultations, my wife brought our daughter’s vision to life in the most beautiful way. And from there, word started to spread—our daughter’s friends began asking Jess to do the florals for their weddings and events.
What began as a passion project quickly grew into a full-blown business: Floral Obsessions. I’ve had the privilege of watching her evolve into a confident entrepreneur—learning how to market her services, conduct client consultations, plan meticulously, and manage all the logistics of sourcing and inventory. And in moments when doubt crept in, she could always look back at the joy on her clients’ faces and know she was doing something meaningful.
Her journey has been nothing short of inspiring—and seeing her build something from the ground up has absolutely fueled my drive to do the same with Sip Social Dallas.
