We had the good fortune of connecting with Curley Kelly and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Curley, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind our success is our relationships. To be successful in life, and in business we believe that you must build strong relationships. Through the recruiting process I am constantly building positive meaningful relationships with the student-athlete(s), their families, the college coaches, and other brands that may be interested in endorsing them. I believe in putting the student-athletes first and not only providing them the necessary exposure but also being instrumental in helping them become better individuals on and off the field. CK2 Supreme Sports Recruiting listens to the needs of the student-athletes and the college coaches. We are tasked with making sure that consistency, attention to detail, honesty, and open lines of communication are always at the fore front of the business. That is what sets us apart from the other services and allows us to build solid relationships and be a successful business.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I graduated from Grambling State University where I played football on the 1989 SWAC Championship under the legendary coach Eddie Robinson. I started my career and journey as a high school coach at my alma mater Opelousas High School in Louisiana under the guidance of well respected coach Larry Dauterive. I moved on to coach in Austin and Dallas, Texas for various high school programs. My career path shifted, and I decided to leave coaching several years later. However, I loved the game and could not truly leave coaching. I began helping student-athletes in 2012 with their recruitment during my spare time. My son Kameron Kelly who is one of my biggest supporters, one of my student-athletes, my best friend, and someone that I love and respect was playing high school football during this time. When the opportunity presented itself, I decided to handle all of his college recruiting. I believed he was an all-around athlete that needed more exposure. I successfully helped him obtain an athletic scholarship to San Diego State. From there several athletes through word of mouth began to come to me for help with their recruitment. That was the start of CK2 Supreme Sports Recruiting. I have overcome many obstacles and adversities in my life but one thing that has been constant is my love for the game of football. I have a keen eye for talent and truly enjoy helping kids continue their dreams of playing college football.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
For a long weekend with my friends and family we are going to go to a local high school football game. Friday Night Lights in the metroplex is like no other. DFW has so many talented young athletes at various schools. Some that come to mind are the State Champs – South Oak Cliff HS. Duncanville HS seemingly is a powerhouse as well. In the upper north part of the metroplex Frisco Lonestar HS or Denton Guyer HS are a few schools that come to mind. Depending on the weather on Saturday morning we may go to brunch in Little Elm, Texas at Savory Kitchen. Saturday nights are full of college games so we may go to a sports bar and grab some wings at Christie’s Sports Bar in downtown Dallas. Our final destination on a Saturday night may be to listen to the sounds of Don Diego at Vinetti’s in Addison. I wouldn’t be a football recruiter if I wasn’t watching the game I love. Who’s ready for some football at AT&T Stadium to watch the city’s own Dallas Cowboys. These are a few great places and exciting things to do in DFW Metroplex – Coach Kelly

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I must thank my wife Courtney Kelly. She has been an instrumental part of the brand vision, operation, and success of CK2 Supreme Sports Recruiting. She is our Office Administrator who oversees the daily office operations, accounting, graphic design, and marketing for the business. Often it is hard to have a partner in life and in business. I am blessed to have both. I don’t always communicate to her how appreciative I am of her – because of her strong support in me I can do what I love. Thank you for pushing me and our brand to new heights!
