We had the good fortune of connecting with Courtney Chaney and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Courtney, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
The most important lesson my business has taught me is that entrepreneurship is not going to be for everybody. Running a business is not like making a cake, its easy for a person to make a cake cause the instructions are on the back of the box and gives you details by details. When it comes to being a entrepreneur there is no manual or instructions on the back of a box that is just given to you. you have to get out there and research and research and do more research. You wont learn things overnight. You may also encounter things that wasn’t in your research that you didn’t know about and that’s what I consider a stumbling block. If being a boss is what you want you have to keep pushing no matter what. Remember the why in behind the reason you started, and keep pressing forward to whatever goals you are trying to achieve.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m a Customer Service Agent for an electric company as well as operating my business. It’s stressful but I believe what sets me apart from others is that no matter how stressful it can get I have a goal to be a full time entrepreneur and I wont stop until it happens. So if I have to juggle both until the time happens then I will do that. I only move when God says move, I don’t ever want to move off emotions cause it always seems to backfire some type of way. When faced with different challenges, I take them to God and just pray about it. My grandmother always told me you cant stress over the things that you can’t change. Prayer was always a good source to overcome challenges that I face running a business and working a full-time job.

My brand was started to help other women bring out the confidence and beauty within. When I was younger, I had confidence and I knew that we were all beautiful creations made by God. Then I got older my confidence level dropped. When you surround yourself with negativity then negativity is what you get. As I tried to build myself up, I would put on a pair of lashes and lip gloss and felt like I was a superstar. Then from lashes to a full face of makeup, my confidence started rising back to the top. I poured into myself and enhance my beauty with sprinkling some glam on me. All you need is a Sprinkle of Glam
Bold, Beauty, Confidence

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

If my best friend was in town, oh what a time it would be, we would be all over the city
We would go hang out at Bar Louie and go eat at DJ’s Steakhouse or Gloria’s or even Texas Roadhouse. Take a trip to the nail shop then go hang out at Ripley’s Believe it or Not and Dave and Busters.  Then end the trip going to church

There are a lot of fun things to do in Texas, its just about getting out there and riding around and finding places.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give all praises to God cause without him and the ways he has been making I wouldn’t be were I am today. I want to also give special thanks to my supporters, everyone who has contribute to my business whether that was a share, purchase after purchase or just encouraging genuine words. my mentors for believing in me and encouraging me, my sisterhood, my family and friends and associates, even ones that I met through social media thank you. Everyone has played a part in the reason I keep pushing so I thank all of you.

I also want to shout out to my cousin Levi for being who he is and for believing in me even when I don’t believe in myself. He has helped me in so many ways when it comes down to my business and personal life. I am so forever grateful.
I also want to give a shoutout to my mama, she pours into my business 24/7 she has assisted me whenever I need assistance whether that’s going to the post office or printing thank you cards. Nothing like the good feeling of having your mama support what you do.
Last I want to give a special thanks to Tanye Tate ( The Hope Coach) for always letting me use her platform to promote my business and pouring into my business as well as being there whenever I need someone to talk to. She has encouraged me and when I fall she is always there to put me back on track.
