Meet Cortne Gregg | Artist & Mom

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cortne Gregg and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cortne, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
Staying authentic to myself matters the most to me. Trying to be someone else or who the world says I need to be will never bring happiness or peace within.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The inspiration behind my art comes from my own mental health struggles. I wanted to share my struggles on both my good and bad days. It hasn’t been easy to put myself out there due to my struggles but I’ve been able to push through and learn how to improve on my interactions. I’ve learned that it’s okay to be in some uncomfortable situations when presenting yourself and your art. Sometimes success requires you to put yourself out there. I’d like the world to know that it’s okay to be open about your mental health. You can turn something’ that feels heavy into something beautiful that others may relate to.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I had a friend come visit first I’d probably take them to H-Mart. It is the Disney of Korean grocery stores. From the wall of kimchi to any flavored chips you could think of, it’s a magical place. Another great place would be Coconut Paradise in Carrolton. It’s coconut jelly that you can add any toppings to it. When it’s not state fair time but funnel cake is calling then Funnel Cake Paradise it is.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to my family, specifically my mother. If it wasn’t for her love and support to keeping pushing forward I would have quit and never continued in creating my artwork.
