Meet Colvin Prince | Graphic Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Colvin Prince and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Colvin, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Initially, the thought of starting a business frightened me. I never imagined myself starting and owning a business. The thought of actually starting my business came from a moment of me waking up to my full potential. For a long time, I allowed the fear of failure to blind me of my talents and abilities. Birthing Kingdom Creations came from me taking a leap of faith and believing in what God placed inside of me which allowed the thought of starting a business to become my reality.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Being in the graphic design industry allows me the opportunity to birth the vision of businesses, organizations, and events through design. As a designer, it is my job to create visual concepts for others to communicate ideas that may inspire, inform, and captivate consumers. One thing that hinders most designers is comparison. Once I started my business and began bringing in more projects, I found myself always comparing my work to others. Overtime I began to realize that comparison KILLS creativity. Being creative is what I am called to do each day, so allowing comparison to kill my creativity was not an option. Developing my design style was the only way I would be able to combat the thoughts of comparison. With eliminating comparison, I have been able to build my confidence in my own work and abilities. I believe what sets my business and I apart from others is the experience my clients have with working with me. With each client, I am very intentionally about informing them that Kingdom Creations is here to support them and help manifest their visions. Building an effective and supportive experience for my clients has helped push my business to where it is today. Getting to this place in my business hasn’t always been easy, but I am enjoying the journey of building a successful and prosperous business. One key component to running a successful business is remaining in the posture of a student. I believe it is very important as a business owner to always be eager to learn more and expand my knowledge of what I do as a graphic designer. I want the world to know that even when you don’t feel it…YOU ARE STILL IT. Times when you don’t feel qualified…know that YOU ARE MORE THAN QUALIFIED. Moments where you feel weak…remember that YOU ARE STRONGER THAN YOU THINK. Building the confidence to launch Kingdom Creations came from a place of renewal, refocus and reflection. As I continue my journey as a business owner, creative, and Christian Influencer it is my hope to one day create an atmosphere and space for other creatives to gain opportunities and expand in their gifts through Kingdom Creations.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting, we would definitely visit some good brunch spots like Crazy Brothers and Johnathan’s. Ultimately, we would explore Downtown Dallas and feel the vibe of the city and everything it has to offer.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
If I had to give recognition and credit to anyone, it would first be God. Without His word and promises over my life, I wouldn’t be here. I am grateful to serve a God who is faithful and true to His word. Without the support and love of my family, friends, and mentors, I wouldn’t be everything I am today. Having a strong support system that continuously encourages, motivates, and pushes me is the best thing that could’ve ever happened to me. My friends and family help sharpen and affirm me daily. I won’t name names, but I am blessed to have an amazing group of people that support my business, vision, and future.
