We had the good fortune of connecting with Coleena Heath and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Coleena, what do you attribute your success to?
My People, Over the years I have hired a lot of people. Some that have been with me for close to the 10 years I have been open. Others that have just recently come on board. Some had moved on but each one of them have helped me in one way or another to get to where we are now. The other thing that has made our brand successful is Honesty. Pet are very unpredictable, they move and jump around and sometimes that can cause us to make mistakes. Razor burn, haircut to short even a small nic as rare as that is we dont hide it. We let the customer know if there was any issues when they pick up. If a customer goes home and then find razor burn or other things then they are very upset that they were not told their baby had a issue. We are very upfront about any mistakes we make and we then learn from them and make changes if we can to make sure we dont have the same issue some time down the road. We are VERY picky about who we bring on board. Our Motto is Our Goal is to gain the trust of our customers and their owners!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Diggidy Dog LLC is a All Breed Dog Grooming Company. What sets us apart is our belief that the fur baby themselfs is OUR customer. We work hard to get the trust and make their visit as short and fun as possible. When you gain that trust of the pet, they go home happy and that makes the parent happy. We do our job right then the fur babies come in the next time excited and ready for their spa day. Small dogs only take about 2 to 2 1/2 hours on average and big dogs 3 to 3 1/2 hours on average. Getting to where we are now was not easy. It is still not easy. You have to work to get better everyday. We are human. We make mistakes. How we deal with those mistakes and learn from them make the difference. You have to continually change and adapt. Covid has been the biggest challenge to overcome. When covid hit we immediately bought hand sanitizer and masks. We limited our stores to just one pet family at a time in the lobby. Then when the shutdown happen. Many grooming salons shut down. It was unclear if because the work Salon is in our names that we had to shut down or not. We went to each one of the city’s our shops are located in and pleaded our case why we should remain open. Many of our customers are service and emotional support dogs. A Lot of times these dog sleep with their owners. Health wise it is very important these dogs stay clean. We also do police dogs on a reg basis. These owner came to our defence and helped us get permission to remain open and be deemed essential. Our customers were very grateful that we did fight to be essential for their fur babies. I would like everyone to know that no matter what Diggidy Dog location you go to, YOUR pet’s safety and happiness is our Highest priority.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When someone comes to town I always like to show them the best of Dallas/Fort Worth. Food wise I would take them to the original Fuzzy’s in Fort Worth, Perry’s Steakhouse & Grill. Whataburger, Tommy Tamale and Meat U Anywhere BBQ. Would take them to the Fort Worth Stockyard, The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, Dallas’ Reunion Tower, Dallas Cattle Drive Sculptures, AT&T Stadium American Nails in The Colony and Deep Ellum Then I would help them book another ticket for the near future. Because there is no way to be able to hit and hang out at all the great places that Dallas/Fort Worth has to offer. Maybe a month visit next time.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My Husband John Heath. He has always had my back and helped push me to open my 1st store. He worked during the day and helped build out our 1st store in Keller in the evening. The 1st 6 months of me being open in 2010 I worked as a manager of a pet chain store till 3pm and then worked my shop till 10pm. John worked during the day and answered our cell phone to make appointments for me to take at night. He has been with me every step of the way.
