We had the good fortune of connecting with Clint Chastain and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Clint, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I am of the opinion that it is better to have reached for your dream; tried for it; and risked failure, rather than having stuck with the simple and safe options every time.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve always wanted to be an up-lifter, if there is such a thing. I want to people to come away their experiences with me feeling better for it. I’ve been fortunate to be able to do this in two ways throughout my life: first, for many decades as a small animal veterinarian, where I helped pets – and their people – to overcome all manner of animal accidents, illnesses, and injuries. Most recently, I’ve been able to bring some joy to some people through the medium of portrait photography. Sometimes, with the photography its nothing more than knowing that by merely viewing your pictures you have brought a moment of joy to someone, somewhere. Other times, the fulfillment comes in knowing that you have boosted a persons self-confidence and self-assurance by working through a photoshoot with them; something they previously had a lot of anxiety about; and then showing them in-camera just how fabulous they really look.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Dallas is a big place with all manner of fun things to do. A lot depends on the person and their interests. I personally enjoy dining out when feasible. Matt’s Rancho Martinez is one of favorite places

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Id like to dedicate my shout out to my wife, Sue, who always has, and still does believe in me, no matter how crazy my ideas are.
