We had the good fortune of connecting with Christian Dyer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christian, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I’ve always been an artsy person. Painting has been a hobby of mine since I was a kid. I really enjoy working with my hands to create something beautiful. The biggest draw to the hair industry for me is that I get to do that for people! The wilder the color they’re looking for the more fun I have creating it.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve been doing hair professionally since 2019. It definitely hasn’t been easy! I had only been in the industry for a year when the pandemic happened. It was definitely an uphill battle building my business during all of that. But it gave me an opportunity to do a lot of online classes and learn more advanced techniques. I’m always thrilled to have clients wanting vivid color hair. There’s so many ways to customize it and really tailor to the individual. We can do any color of the rainbow or all of them. I literally do the excited jump and giggle every time I see their reaction after we’re done. I love it! Determination and passion got me this far!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Razzoo’s Cajun Cafe is hands down my favorite place to eat. Everything they have is delicious, especially the fried gator. The Water Gardens are a good place to work off some of that fried heavenly goodness. It’s so peaceful there it doesn’t even feel like you’re in the city. Since you’re already downtown, Pete’s Dueling Piano Bar is always a good time!
