Meet Chris Stanley | Actor and Comedy Magician.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Stanley and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chris, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
It is how I am created. When God was putting the pieces of Chris together, He left out the ability to do a normal job. I have always thought differently then the people around me. I love to make people laugh. It wasn’t until I graduated from college that I truly felt I could be an entertainer as a career. I saw other people doing it….why not me.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a comedian, magician, and actor. I have a highly interactive show. It is filled with improve and creative effects. Each show is unique and high energy. I wish I could say it was easy getting to where I am today. The creative side of showbusiness is easy. The business side is where the real work lies. It is an every day process. It ain’t hard but it ain’t easy. I am constantly learning and adapting. I am a family entertainer that provides a one of a kind experience filled with laughter and magic.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Branson Missouri has a lot to offer. I would definitely do some touristy things like Silver Dollar City theme park, Sight and Sound theater, and tickets to both my show (Chris Stanley Comedy Magic Hour, and Smoke On The Mountain) I would want to ride bikes on some of the trails. I love thrift stores. we would go to a few of my favorite. If they are magician, we would see a few magic show and go to the local magic shop. I would take them on a ride in my 1969 VW Karmann Ghia. We would stop to get BBQ at Dana’s or eat a burger at Billy Bob’s. We would have to stop at Andy’s frozen custard.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are a ton of Shoutouts I need to make! First is my faith (Wait! Don’t stop reading and roll your eyes! Let me explain.) I struggled with a low value of myself. There are dark places in my mind. Traps that lock me into a loosing thought processing battle. Knowing there is a God that loves me, and wants to have a real relationship with me, and died to make that possible, puts a value on me that I could never do. God loves the imperfect…I am proof of that. My value is no longer set by me but by God and he set that value high for everyone. Next Shoutout is to my wife. Who could put up with all of my craziness? It is an endless parade of practice, “Hey, watch this,” “Is this funny,” and sentencing that start with “Don’t be mad but…” She has supported me always. She is the level head and the voice of reason when I try to catch a bullet in my teeth but misses and it goes into my shoulder instead. (She knows that is a true story.)
Shoutout to my kids who taught me I can be a good father.
A Shoutout to Ms Pierce who put me on stage. Mark Haynes who taught me magic. Jim Moeskau, D. A. Calloway, and Richard Vahldick gave me an opportunity to grow as a performer. To my church family who helped along the way. To everyone who came to one of my shows. You made me want to work harder and be better the next time you saw me. For you, who finished reading this long answer. Only seven more answers to go.
