Meet Chong Kim: Consultant, Speaker, Author and Media Creative Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Chong Kim and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chong, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
Priority is important habit to me. Priority must be on the top of your list to achieve, without it if it’s not important to you then you can’t move forward with your project, business or goals.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Being an Over comer of Abuse is difficult on it’s own, but when you add me being a Female, Disabled and Asian-American it can be quite challenging. My creativity sets me apart because of my voice, being able to share my tragedy and turning it into triumph and not allowing the past to hinder or consume me into bitterness or anger. My project involves my experience of my abuse, my challenges of being Asian-American and living with disability and utilizing those expertise in a way to inspire others through Spoken Word, Film and Television. Being able to express your pain and our triumph. It wasn’t easy coming out with my story of being trafficked, I received push backs and doubters, but the important lesson I have learned is to keep moving even if you are the only one creating a platform for others to stand on.
Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
I love hanging out at the Adriatic in McKinney, I love the downtown feel of Dallas near the Bishop Arts District and last in Plano, there are amazing Asian Influenced coffee shops, cafe and bookstores to see. My favorite eatery are the Brazilian Buffets at the Villa Grill in Irving, TX.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would have to give a special Shoutout to my friends who’ve been so supportive of my endeavors, continuing to believe in me and the loyalty of my project and business. There’s so many to name, but I want to recognized these important people in my life; Angela Richardson Allen, Willie Mae Richardson, Jessica Rae, Mersed Imamovic, Erik Alarik, Darnell Evans, Gurie Sheffield Jr., Lisa Martinez, Patricia Salazar and most importantly my best friend and partner in crime, Johnny L. Meshack.
