We had the good fortune of connecting with Chloe Clemente and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chloe, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I’ve been surrounded by music my entire life, and express myself the most through it. I love that I can relate to others in this way and share what I feel. I’ve been working towards my dream of being a rock vocalist since I was 9 and started taking vocal lessons with Billy Purnell. He trained vocalists Keke Palmer, Tori Kelly, and more. I was always really drawn to the stage and being a frontman, from seeing Axl Rose’s stage presence especially I became completely obsessed with bands like Guns N’ Roses, Journey, and Queen. They became my main influences for my music now! I joined my first band when I was 14 and have been singing and performing ever since. I can’t picture myself doing anything else, I’ve found a love for performing and feel my best when I’m on stage singing my songs.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Songwriting definitely, it has really helped me to express myself and connect with others in a live setting. I get to tell my stories on a different level and people seem to really enjoy it. My newest release “Angels Cry” captures the hardest part of my songwriting journey. “Angels Cry” is about breaking free from the norms of society, depression, and embracing change even if it’s scary. It sounds reminiscent of Evanescence with a rock n roll vibe you can’t miss. I wrote this song about my first experience in dealing with depression from moving from California to Texas, and overcoming it through hope, change, and determination.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love taking my friends to local shows in and around Dallas and seeing where we end up. If I’m in Dallas with friends wanting a drink, the #1 spot I take them to is the Bowen House, the interior is amazing and it’s great when not too busy. For food, I absolutely LOVE El Tiz, being from California and half Mexican, El Tiz really satisfies my craving for Mexican food. Another place I recommend is stock yards because it has a LOT of Texas charm. I also offer them a trip down to Cowboys Red River for two steppin if they like dancing.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to dedicate my Shoutout to Rockstars of Tomorrow Frisco. They’re a musicians academy who bring their love of music to the community and educate young bands, musicians, and artists to follow their passion.
