We had the good fortune of connecting with Cheramie Law and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cheramie, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk taking has been a huge part in me becoming who I am today. Risk taking is very important to live a life you want to live.
How I think about risk is “I have to wake up, I have to live so I might as well risk it all in creating the life that I want to live, instead of settling for a life that someone else wants me to live.”
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
In the early 2010s, Cheramie Law, a US Marine Corps veteran, discovered Texas’ burgeoning wine scene; Texas wine soon turned into an obsession. In 2013, Chermie met Todd Aho (also a veteran) and they bonded immediately over their shared military service and their love of the Texas wine community. Along this journey, they realized the least commercial grape varieties often produced the most compelling wines; underdog bottlings with both flair and individuality outshone more predictable offerings from larger wineries. With a focus on this idea, the Cheramie Wine label was born. The strength of Cheramie Wine rests in this passion: the commitment to the undiscovered, to the dedicated, and to an unwavering “Yes I can” attitude. Cheramie Wine hopes to bring the very best wines of the Lone Star state into cellars across America.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I have a friend coming into town I’m taking them to Soirée Coffee Bar in Dallas!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shoutout Jasmin Brand of HerTexas, Jasmin Brand has been such an encourager in my life. She will have you believing that you can do anything!
