We had the good fortune of connecting with Chelsey Morin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chelsey, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Oh my goodness, it was a dream come TRUE! I had always thought this would just be a hobby, and that it wouldn’t actually ever become my full-time job! But God just kept giving me all the green lights to take this leap of faith. I was working as an elementary music teacher, but it was just one thing after another that kept leading me away from that and moving me toward my wedding planning business. And I knew that if I didn’t take the risk, I would always be asking myself “what if?” What if I didn’t try?

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
So we are identical twins who love Jesus and Disney, and we just happen to have a wedding planning and coordinating business. We take the stress off our couples’ shoulders so they not only have an amazing wedding day, but an amazing start to their marriage! So many brides have SO much worry and anxiety and have all these questions whirling around in their heads: “What am I forgetting? How do I get my bridesmaids to respond to my texts? What happens if I spill something on my dress?” And all these questions keep them from actually focusing on what’s important: their marriage! Marrying the love of their life. So we pride ourselves for being their Fairy Godmothers and handling all the details for them so they can just enjoy this amazing season! Because their dreams that they had since childhood are finally coming true! And we want them to get every ounce of happiness and joy out of it. Oh, our road to get here was DEFINITELY not easy! I remember one night back in 2019 where I was seriously considering just going back to my full-time job. I hadn’t booked a wedding in MONTHS, and I was having so much doubt. But I kept going! I KNEW that couples were coming who needed my help, and pretty soon after that, I was completely booked out for the next TWO YEARS. God totally provides, y’all!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Ooooooh, SO many things!!! Dallas is the COOLEST place! My husband and I just recently moved to the heart of downtown because we love it so much! Okay, first off, I would take them on a walk around the city! We’d see the giant eyeball, the super tall skyscrapers, the fountains at the base of Fountain Place…And then we’d go to Klyde Warren Park and browse the food trucks! Later that week, we’d go to the Dallas Zoo, and Medieval Times, and Six Flags, maybe the Dallas Museum of Art…Oh! And the Perot Museum! That place is so cool! Oh, and we would HAVE to go to Reunion Tower to the observation deck!! And in between all of that, we’d just hang out in our high-rise…watching TV and sipping on some coffee or wine while we talked. We have a super cozy lounge in our apartment building with an electric fireplace. So we’d definitely go down there at least once! 🙂 As far as where we ate? There’s a really cool bar right down the street! And an awesome Irish pub. That’s one thing we love about downtown; we get front row seats and immediate access to the local grub. Oh my goodness, there are too many things!! Haha.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Oooh, I love this!! Hmm…I have to say my co-worker Amanda Smith! She had started her own business recently, the Dallas Girl Gang, and we were just talking about my plans for the future. I told her that I wasn’t sure if I wanted to continue teaching that next school year (we were both elementary music teachers at our school) or do something else. And she turned to me and said, “Chelsey, you could totally do your wedding business full-time. I know that without a doubt.” And she was the person who really planted that seed! Because if she hadn’t said that, then I wouldn’t have entertained that idea, and I wouldn’t have given it my all and committed whole-heartedly to making it work. And now here I am today! Fully booked out for 2021!
