We had the good fortune of connecting with Chauntology Speaks and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chauntology, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The idea of starting a business wasn’t at the forefront of my mind when I started this journey. I was simply trying to give my passion – the thing I’d been naturally doing my entire life – a name. Women have always been drawn to me for guidance, inspiration and support and, using my skills, talents and expertise to positively impact their lives is one of my greatest fulfillments. Watching their self-awareness and emotional intelligence increase fuels me to do and be more… for them. Chauntology Speaks is more than a business. It’s a ministry.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am a Certified Master Life Coach and an expert in growth and transformation. I have a unique gift of connecting with women and have an insatiable appetite for helping them discover their true, authentic selves. As a coach, I work to motivate and inspire them at their deepest level so their change is real and their results are long lasting.
It hasn’t been easy but nothing that’s worth it really is. During the rough moments, I remind myself why I started this journey in the first place and then think of how far I’ve come. Celebrating the small victories along the way keeps me grounded and focused on the end goal.
This process has taught me to listen to my own intuition and trust myself – especially when my path looks different than everyone else’s. When I started, I followed the systems of others and wondered why nothing was changing in my business. I now embrace my own vision and it feels great!
I want the world to know that Chauntology Speaks is not just another small business and I’m not just another life coach trying to make a name for myself. I do this work because I know what both sides of the journey look like and I want as many women as I can reach to experience the winning side. I don’t teach what I read in a textbook. I teach what I know works – because it worked for me and the others I’ve taught.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Of course it depends on which friend was visiting (they all have individual interests), but live music and cocktails are always at the top of my list. Throw in some line dancing and I’m good for the week! Deep Ellum is good for people watching and the Shops at Park Lane is one of my favorite areas to shop. The jury is still out (for me) on some of the best places to eat. I keep adding new places to the list :).
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Two people, actually. My daughter, Olivia, gave me the courage to grow into my own self-awareness. She was so much like me when she was born it was both delightful and frightening. I was thrilled that she seemed to encompass my best qualities but terrified that she would inherit the ones I worked so hard to keep hidden. As her primary role model, I knew I had to grow so she could have a fair chance at being the best version of herself. Without her, I may not have found the motivation to heal and transform into this better version of myself.
My husband, Reggie, shows me just how valuable this new, self-aware version of me is. He is proof that investing in your own personal development can reap big rewards. He accepted me for everything I was and supports and encourages who I am becoming. With him, I can just be me. He makes practicing what I preach easy.
