We had the good fortune of connecting with Charry Morris and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Charry, what are you inspired by?
I heard this recently: “if you are bored in your life, you haven’t lived an examined life.” There are always going to be peaks, plateaus and valleys. What good journey wouldn’t include hardship, betrayal, love, and laughter? Well, I believe that how we place our feet during the steps we are taking, determines every present moment. And if we can bring enough presence into the present moment, we will somehow come to know where our feet truly are and how they landed us here. I am so inspired by this kind of living. Fearless, warrior style living from the Soul. A life filled with Soul Mates, Soul filled Food, Soul generated Projects, Soul led Love. Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a bit of a body specialist. I understand how it moves, how it creates, how it opens and how it closes. I know how the mental affects the physical. I know how the mind can controls us and drive us into negative places and spaces. I know how to bring Imagination into Process. I am still a work in progress. Many things are always forming and dissolving. It’s constant effort. I have wanted to quit and get a day job with secure benefits and a fixed salary many, many times. But, for some reason, just when I am ready to give up, something new emerges that keeps me going. I am learning how to read people better. I am doing my best not to give away the farm all the time. I am constantly trying to “prove my worth”. These are extremely challenging times when the marketplace wants to pay Mc Donald’s prices for Special Quality, One-of-a-kind Products. I simply keep trying to show up as I am, with the gifts that I have, and stand firm in my capabilities. So far, it seems to be working. I have learned that my heart knows the direction to go in. I just have to put myself there by taking the necessary steps. My brand is very organic, very natural, very bright. The work we do is so intimate, personal, and intense that it has to be shared in a “light” manner, with lots of laughter, and enjoyment. My story is ongoing. It is written day by day, breath by breath. Once a professional soccer player, then a ski professional, then a Yoga disciple, then Yoga teacher, then a mother, then a divorcee, then a soccer coach, then, then then, and now… what is emerging now? Come find me and see where I am in this moment. Let’s meet out in that field of not know, of no story. Just humans, relating and building a friendship in the moment. Wouldn’t that be some story?!If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would for sure take my friend to Eataly, for a first night dinner, a glass of wine post-North Park Mall excursion, or shopping for a meal we will make together later that week. A walk/bike around White Rock Lake is always part of the plan, check out the Arboretum, the Nasher Museum, and a trip to the Crow Museum. Some yummy Vietnamese food at Mot Hai Ba in Victory Park. A little Sushi at Blue Sushi Sake Grill and a nice evening at Rise. I never leave out True Food Kitchen and/or Flower Child. Coffees at Houndstooth and Communion Neighborhood Cooperative. Due to Covid, it’s mostly take out and walks around cool parts of town. But, once we get rolling again, socializing out is going to be so wonderful!Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
So many people have helped me along the way. So many amazing coaches, friends, and partners. I would especially like to recognize my friend in arms and Yoga Coach, Sri Andrei Ram. If ever there was a strong and steadfast living example of Yoga, it is he. In my soccer coaching aspect of life, I would like to give a big shout out to Gerard Voutier for bringing me onboard and allowing me to do my thing for the betterment of the game and those players that I train week in and week out. More recently, I am excited to be working with world renowned Jungian therapist and Dreamworker, Robert Bosnak. This work is the bridge between my Yoga and Soccer aspects through Embodied Imagination. I have had the fortune to partner up with some very special people on some very special projects. I look forward to many, many more fruitful endeavors with other creative and progressive thinkers!
