We had the good fortune of connecting with Charlie Waters and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Well, I think Ryker was especially born to be a model. His calm demeanor and natural poses make for some amazing photos. With Sinatra coming along in December of 2021 he too has picked up on the posing. Both are uniquely different personalities and when people meet them, I feel they are left with a smile.

Something I’ve learned along the way is to be engaging with the followers “Frens” you have on social medial, comment and respond to everyone. Focus on those followers you do have not what you don’t.

I didn’t know we would be where we are today, but I am forever grateful for the journey I’ve been afforded by these pups.

Our mission is to “share a smiler wherever we go and fill the world with a little more joy each day.”

I’ve learned that your pain becomes your passion and there was a time in my life in 2019 where I didn’t think I’d ever smile again, but when I held Ryker in my arms for the first time, my whole life changed and I felt a light shining within me and that light must be shared with the world.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love taking Ryker and Sinatra out on the Katy Trail. It’s always been such a wonderful place to interact with new people. For me it’s the silent excitement I capture on other’s faces when they see these two little legged Dachshunds walking down the trail and ask to pet them. Being told that your dog’s just made someone’s day is a blessing and continues to inspire me to keep going.

Once a week on a nice day I will take the boys into the Katy Trail Ice House for some chicken as a treat and to capture content. It’s always busy and the opportunity to meet new people is endless.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout goes to all the Dachshund/animal lovers around especially those who love and support Ryker & Sinatra. The Doxie Dawgs, Dallas Doxies, Upcountryinc for supporting us with their brand and sending us the newest harness/lead sets and Melinda from DappledDanas my go to creator of all the pup’s custom made bow ties (one of the signature looks)
